Went a few years back for 5-6 days. A nice place and I would take the job for sure.
before dismissing the expense of the place you should figure out what tax rate you will be paying over there.
i've looked into the cayman islands before, and they have no income tax (or cgt), but make up for it with higher sales taxes etc...i have a vague recollection that bermuda is fairly similar, so the reason everything is pricy is partly because you're keeping a much higher % of your income than you would over here.
what put me off in the end was a) that to travel to europe is going to take you close to 24 hours, because it's all indirect stuff via miami etc and b) the weather - not the 320 days a year of sunshine and clear blue water, but the 50 days a year of tropical storms.
but it's one of those things you won't get offered many times in your life, and even the tropical storms may appeal vs the manchester mizzle.

Sorry mate, but that’s not true.
Cayman (currently) has no income tax, corporation tax, VAT, GST, or CGT.
The reason it’s more expensive is because:
1) goods are priced according to the overall opulence of the area (something is worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it - see the price of a pint in Chelsea versus Dunfermline, for example); and
2) the vast majority of stuff is imported and therefore suffers the incremental costs of getting it over there & potentially import taxes.
Guernsey, likewise, has no VAT/GST, but does have personal income tax (20% flat); Jersey has 5% GST.
Bermuda does not have personal income tax nor VAT/GST, but does have social insurance and payroll tax (the latter being levied on the employer originally, but was of course dichtomised between employer and employee by the egalitarian corporates of our world).

Go for it or you will be wondering "What if" for the rest of your life. I did it with a job offer from Tasmania. I refused unless they paid my wife's fare as well. They said no, so did I. Am hour later they agreed and we ended up with 15 months in beautiful Tas.

If it's good enough for Shaun Goater it would be good enough for me.
Re actually living there, I haven’t lived in Bermuda, but I have lived in the Channel Islands & Cayman Islands (which are rather similar in lifestyle and culture).
I think they are incredibly easy places to fall in love with quickly, as they’re so small and thus easy to explore. They are really gorgeous islands, and the lifestyle (very slow pace of life comparatively, your commute is usually literally a five minute walk, no big car journeys, much better weather, etc.) is great at first.
If you have a family, they’re incredibly safe places given their size (for example, my car insurance in the UK is £1.8k pa; it was £100 pa for the same car in the islands) which is obviously a huge bonus.
That being said, if you have children of secondary school age, I wouldn’t be advocating the education system over there.
The healthcare system is private, so ensure you get insurance in with your job (I found this out when I received a £450 bill through the post after being picked up by an ambulance a few weeks prior!!!), but tends to be umpteen times better than the UKs as a result, unless you have a serious condition that requires a somewhat esoteric specialist.
Lower taxes is obviously great, but is somewhat alleviated by a greater cost of living.
The food tends to be BANGING, but is expensive.
Ultimately, I got bored and missed home. All that stuff is great, but I love going into the dales or the lakes and finding a new hike every weekend; exploring new spots; going on long car drives and ending up somewhere totally foreign to me.
I missed 24 hour shops, giant cinemas, weird and wonderful business ideas that crop up in larger cities. Really, I missed my friends and family.
So, they can be wonderful for a short amount of time - maybe a couple years - but then I would personally get off back home. They’re either for people starting a young family who aren’t bothered about going out and doing random stuff, more of a homely, natural, old fashioned lifestyle, or for the elderly.

Road Travel
Tourists are not allowed to drive cars in Bermuda.
Buses, ferries and taxis are generally safe, frequent and efficient. You can’t hire a car in Bermuda, but 50cc scooters are readily available for public hire. A small number of 2-person minicars are offered as an alternative to motorcycles in some locations. Driving is on the left, as in the UK. Roads are narrow, winding and undulating, and traffic may be heavy. Road accidents involving scooters are relatively common, and have resulted in serious injury or even death. You should take care. The national speed limit is 35kmh (22mph) but is lower in some urban areas.
