So which stream did you use ?
I've seen some comparisons between Nketiah and Ian Wright and frankly they're ridiculous. Nketiah is nowhere near as clinical. He costs us too many chances.
I like Havertz even more at CF than Nketiah
I have to rate the optimism
Second half he was really poor I get he was probably tired but his pressing and hold up play was non existent. His closing down reminded me of what Ozil was like he would jog around but never really put anyone under pressure. You can see its night and day when compare with someone like Odegaard. Ultimately we have got to be looking at someone better if we are not already. I wouldn't mind getting Toney in January someone completely different to what we have now and we can give them Nketiah as part of the deal.
“Great win and who are we to judge Arteta's decisions.”
I think Arteta’s decisions need a lot of “judging” this season, & starting Nketiah up front was another clanger - Jesus should have started up front with Nelson on the right, it was so obvious…🙄
Tony is just a penalty taker merchant abit like Lacazette where his stats have been inflated. (Although he is much better than Eddie)
Find it laughable that Southgate called Eddie up for the England squad after 2 goals lmao.
I think we've all known for a while Eddie isnt really good enough to be starting regularly. I think Arteta has also become disillusioned with GJ through the middle, though, so is trying to find options.
Toney I'm not sure. Won't have played football in 6 months by January, so for us to spend big money bringing him in, hope he settles into the team and fires us to the title is a big risk.
Doubt Wrighty was that clinical at his age either. Don't forget how old and experienced Ian Wright was when he hit the top flight. Bit unfair to expect the child that is Eddie to be as clinical a finisher as the club's one time scoring record holder at 29/30.
I think the comparisons to Wrighty are because of where Eddie gets himself. He gets himself into the positions consistently busying defenders creating space for others, the clinical finishing will come in time.
Don't disagree with you on preferring to see Jesus, just think it's harsh to expect Wrightys prime time goal scoring ability from a kid 10 years younger. Besides that none mentioned are anywhere near as clinical as Wrighty was either.
Eddie is 24 ffs he’s not a kid anymore. He’s older than Haaland and Alvarez
Comparing Eddie Nketiah to Ian Wright is a bit ridiculous.
Ian Wright was a clinical finisher, he was also seriously quick combined with a natural poacher’s situational awareness & a fantastic natural drive to his game. He was a force of nature.
Nketiah doesn’t have any of this, he is a moderately decent journeyman player with a good attitude who is more suited to the lower end of the PL or a good Championship side.
