Decent goal, he's done nothing else.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I disagree, but regardless - much better than we’ve seen him play for us in a long time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Jude was key to the goal. I've seen little else from Marcus, let's not get carried away ffs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He really wasn’t. That’s just the commentators building the narrative. He had the easiest part in the whole move.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

He carried the ball in CM then passed to marcus on the edge of the area. Jude made a run across the box, taking one of the defenders with him. Marcus ran across the opposite side before shooting. Good goal from Marcus, but Jude had a big part to play.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

He carried the ball in a completely empty midfield due to them pressing Foden and him getting the ball through to him (his pass being the second hardest bit).

Foden, Bellingham and Kane were then all attacking two of their defenders, which gave Rashford the space initially. They all then went to him though and he beat one and shot before the other one got to him. That was the hardest bit of it - the easier thing for him to do (and it’s a good job that he scored tbh as it would have been the right thing too) would have been pass to Kane as he was completely free. What Rashford did, even if he probably shouldn’t have, was the hardest part of the move.

Empty? Wonderful piece of ball juggling skill over two incoming Italian midfielders to create the opportunity to run into acres of open space. That was all Jude.

Rashford wasn’t very good
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He wasn't bad and wasn't amazing. Scored a nice goal. Worked harder than he has of late too.

But given its Rashford we have to have his performance over analysed as ever. It's getting boring now.

I genuinely think we have fans on this forum who don't really celebrate and cheer when he scores. In fact I'm certain of it. It's a very bizarre fanbase at the moment.

Other than the goal he was a solid 6, goal made him a 7.

Yeah I was about to scream Rashford you cuuuunt until it went in the bottom corner.

Bellingham was first to the ball in acres of space and played a square pass. The hype around some of the stuff he does is ridiculous. If Kalvin Phillips had kicked the ball beyond the midfield and squared it you wouldn’t hear anybody saying how amazing it was.

Jude Bellingham masterclass

Bellingham was England's talisman once more

Peerless Bellingham

this was another magnificent display from the youngster

The midfielder was involved in everything

He is the real deal and already marked down as England's superstar.

Bellingham's relentless running and fierce determination was instrumental in England's recovery from that early blow of conceding, with Italy unable to cope with his energy and creation.

manager Southgate will know he has a truly special talent at his disposal that will make him the envy of every other country in the tournament.

Totally agree with the first two paragraphs.

Everybody in old Trafford cheers when he scores, but then he hasn’t done that for a while

England have some quality players right now, so that helps

Being alongside intelligent players like Kane, Foden and Bellingham helps creates the kind of space Rashers needs to play his game.

I'm well aware of that as Im there. I said on this forum.....most Utd fans on here don't go to the games.

I don't think the fanbase has ever been so toxic and divided. It's an absolute joke right now and that's ultimately come through frustration of us not getting back to the club we were.

I think Rashford gets way too much criticism put on his shoulders personally. He's not playing that well this season but I don't think we have even 3 players in the squad who I would confidently say are playing to the required standard.

Just seen Rashford's goal now.

Nice play by Foden and a ball to Bellingham who got there in front of the defender who committed too early IMO. Simple ball to Rashford who probably didn't take the right decision percentage wise but did as he scored a very nice little dribble and finish.

Rashford does frustrate me at times to be honest but that's only because I think he could be even better. Just when you think he's starting to mature he'll go running into blind alleys again. It's probably just a symptom of playing for the current United though and having to carry the burden often of being the major goal threat. If we can get Hojlund settled then we'll see much better from him IMO. He can link up play well, as we've seen with Martial in the past, and I've no doubt he'll do it again.

Overall England did play well but watching the game I also thought Italy were poor, watching the "play out" from the back was terrible and England with a half decent press must have stole the ball in Italys half a dozen times

As for Rashford not a masterclass but not as poor as he has been for Utd in the games I've seen, man has talent imo and was happy he got the goal, hopefully give him some positivity for the weekends match

posted on 18/10/23

Italy played quite well actually. It just that unfortunately for them and others, that in spells England can be very, very, good. Not surprising with the players that England have in their squad.

it certainly is. One of the bonusses of losing the Qatari Sheikh and his sportswashing dreams and promises could be that we might also lose a few more of the SM glory hunting e-fans that United have acquired for so long now.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I think that's kind of the point with Bellingham at the moment though. Not necessarily that everything he does is amazing; more that he's involved in so much of what happens. It "could" have been Phillips who played that pass; it "could" have been Rashford who won the penalty. But it wasn't.

Bellingham is like that Roy of the Rovers midfielder we thought was going out of style. He's playing in top teams at 20 years old and already has that talismanic quality.

posted on 18/10/23

But when you listen to people it is that everything he does is amazing, when it’s not. It’s par for the course when England produce a special talent, but that doesn’t mean I have to agree with it.

Glory Hunter fans would not be supporting United anymore, they would be supporting City.
