thankfully with the next couple of fixtures you should be ok with Dire.
Doesn’t look too bad - but this is clearly what will derail our season, we have zero strength in depth at the back, we need to try and get to Jan and hope we have sufficient funds for another decent CB.
Eric Dire in a high line will be an absolute disaster
Would rather start Philips than Dier. Also, with Bissouma suspended and PEH likely to start, a little extra defensive midfield presence might work out ok

Yeah this, Dier-bolical should never play for Spurs again.
I saw Romero came off because he was ‘uncomfortable’. We don’t play til Monday night so hopefully nearly a weeks rest and he’ll be fine. If not, Phillips.

Thought I read something the other day that said it would more likely be Dorrington

I really wish we were bigger mingebags when it comes to allowing players to go out on meaningless internationals
----------------------------------------------------------------------
its mandatory to release players for international duty. there is no choice. Only the player can refuse the call up.
International breaks during the season are a complete nonsense. I loathe them, and couldn't care less about them.
Time for Phillips or Dorrington or even Emerson..whoever is the fastest of the 3 should start.
I'm actually keen to see Phillips or Dorrington. Fulham at home would be the best chance of testing them. You don't want to make a debut away from home or against a top 6 team.
We chose not to sign an extra centre back in the summer so I presume Ange is happy with his options and I do not expect any excuses because Romero is out.

Ange isn’t a whinger - but I’m sure he would like another top option to cover.
My money is on Romero being fit

Not sure thats true..... I think Ange wanted another CB in addition to VDV and Philips. I think everyone knows Dier is going. I would expect us to go after another in Jan
The early indications are that the ankle issue that forced Cristian Romero off in Argentina’s game against Peru last night is not serious!
@CDEccleshare
Even if Romero is not fit. I wouldn't mind Ange giving Phillips his debut.

Yeah obviously not true. We just couldn't shift Dier or Sanchez in time
I think our improved solidity is partially down to our more front foot approach. We are not parked up in out own box inviting attacks onto our crappy defence. So while Dier would be a step down in terms of defensive quality our overall play overcomes this to a degree.
Dier at CB, PEH in the middle...it will be like old times
gross negligence by the club to not have one single adequate CB back up. unbelievable
Shows what a stupid decision it was to let Sanchez go, he would be an ok option in this system until we got a better CB

Not for me. That slip against United said otherwise. He was always capable of looking half decent then being an absolute horror show.

One goal and 2 assists in 4 games for Sanchez. He is going to win a trophy like all the others.

The right thing for the club was to move Sanchez on, I would have been happy to see Dier go in the summer too. We'll cope until January.
Guarantee Spurs will be at full strength against Fulham, bar the suspended Bissouma.
To much scaremongering just because a player has a slight twinge. Romero will be fine, as will Son.
