Awful news, one of the genuine legends of the game. RIP.
Tonight's game will be very emotional.
A true legend and a gent. RIP
Sad news. He was suffering with dementia I believe and hadn’t been seen publicly for some time. Possibly a happy day for him. RIP.
Sad day indeed, a Munich survivor and true club legend
Shame to hear this news. RIP
Sad news, but what a great player and let's try to remember all those moments and what a truly great servant he was for the club.
Denis the only survivor of the 'Holy Trinity' and sadly he has dementia also.
Such sad news, he will always be an icon of English football.
Kind of like the idea of him and Jackie having a kick about somewhere up in Football haven 😊
RIP
Sad few weeks for the United family.
The greatest Englishman to ever play football.
The greatest player to ever play for United.
One of the reasons I support United.
Part of the greatest Trinity of players ever to play in the same team.
A gentleman who did things quietly and humbly.
Never got booked or sent off.
Scored 49 goals for England playing mainly in CM. Abd none of this penalty nonesence.
United top goalscorer for so long, again from CM mainly.
Englands best player in the 1966 World Cup.
Scored twice in that night in 1968 and was the first Englishman to lift the Euroean Cup
A bloke you would often bump into in the supermarket in Chorlton.
A lad who survived a plane crash where most of his mates died.
Simply the greatest British sportsman ever.
An example to us all who play sport.
Stopped the traffic in West London at his last ever game at Chelsea.
A man whose name entererd the English language. No matter where you went in the World and couldnt speak the lingo a local would ask you where you were from and you replied Manchester, he would say in broken English, 'ahh, Bobby Charlton?'
New this day would come one day.
Absolutely gutted.
RIP Mr. Charlton
In the mid 60s, to this former 6-yr-old boy hurtling around my school's playground, he was my inspiration.
Came across as a really, really, decent person as well.
Cannot say any more than that
Great player for United. So close to winning a world cup with England as well. Just inches away. RIP
Would have loved to see him play in the flesh, sadly before my time
RIP
One of Bobbys best. Go to 50 secs. Great commentary .
Be great to see United run at teams like this on the front foot again. Do it for Bobby tonight lads. And OT goes beserk
