Surely this isn't even a debate is it? Why even make the article. Everyone knows he's the best ever. It's not even close. Even those absolute fecktards that absurdly say Ronaldo probably know Messi is the greatest. Messi is number 1 by an absolute mile, 2nd is Maradona and then I'd say Ronaldo, Pele, Best, Cruyff, Zidane etc and all the others can fight it out for third.

Any other opinion on the matter isn't worth listening to.

He actually only really won 2 World Cups (he missed 1962 through injury but was in the squad, so got a medal decades later).

Also, the fact they won in 62 without him shows how strong his supporting cast was with the National Team.

He was also only recognised as the Best Player at one World Cup (70), although you could make a case for 58 (but Didi is recognised as Best Player of that cup).

Whereas Messi officially won the Golden Ball at 2 World Cups.

Where you getting this from? He played two games in 62 World Cup, scoring in one and going off injured in the other before missing the remainder of the tournament, so he actually did win three World Cup medals, albeit not in the starting role many without the context would think.

Yeah that's what I mean.

In 62, he played the 1st game, got injured in the 2nd and missed the whole event after that. So it's not an actual World title win.

Same as when people say Messi won 4 UCLs, I always correct them and say 3, because he got injured in the R16 1st leg vs Chelsea and missed the rest of the event.
