I enjoyed Zombieland 1 but would put that maybe in the comedy bracket like Shaun of the Dead. 28 Days is the only film to give me nightmares however through my teenage years
Watched Trick 'r Treat over the weekend. That's got a good mix of Comedy and Horror. 'Talk to Me' as well, new Aussie horror, that's worth a go.
This is a great opening scene from Wolf creek 2

The new Saw film is good. The best one since the first one I reckon.
Can't believe there's been 10 now though. Far too many.

I was pretty scared of Poltergeist when I was a kid but on a recent re-watch I thought it was laughable!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Always saw poltergeist as more of a sci fi. It's really not that scary

It’s not sci fi, it has The Devil in it ffs!
Devil? More like inter-dimensional spirits.

Watched the omen recently aswell. The dogs and nanny were pretty creepy, but I don't know why people labelled it as the scariest film ever

I think those 70’s ones definitely have a more creepy vibe though!
Can you imagine watching The Exorcist at the cinema when it first came out?!
The Omen music gave me nightmares.
Nightmare on Elm Street was scary as funk too.

Very few did as it was banned in cinemas by most local authorities in the UK at the time it was released.
Seriously guys give 'Hell House LLC' a go. It's a low budget horror film but it's a bit of a cult one already. It's incredibly creepy and If you have issues with clowns then I'd give it a miss otherwise you won't sleep a wink for a few nights. 😂
Not really scary but An American werewolf in London is a classic

excellent choice, a very atmospheric film, with a terrific performance from niall macginnis.
since we're on the subject of british b&w horrors, the innocents is a brilliantly made film; and since we're talking french directors, we should mention eyes without a face (and, i suppose, martyrs, which is brutal).
1. Day of Wrath
2. Psycho
3. Alien
4. Don't Look Now
5. The Phantom Carriage
6. The Exorcist
7. Django Unchained
8. St Maud
9. Halloween
10. Texas Chain Saw Massacre (original)
