Fairly sure last season the PL kind of dominated European football? It's not poor quality at all
It’s more than likely top 5 will get champion league places but I think points wise you’ll need around 72/71
Sandy, could you give us your own unexpurgated views on Chelsea this season ,please be as fair as possible !
It has never taken 80 points to get top 4 before. Arsenal finished 4th with 79 points about a decade ago, but they didn't need that much, they only needed 73 to get it. Not saying you'll be wrong but it's incredibly unlikely. Will probably be the usual 70ish points mark.

It’s not great, not from top of bottom half down. And those teams have 100 times the money european rivals have for the most part.

European football in general is as poor as it has been overall for decades. La Liga is just a shadow of the quality it used to have. Same with the Dutch and Italian leagues. No coincidence Ajax are having their poorest season in their history.

Now you've gone and ruined Sandy's Sunday lunch !
I reckon as most likely 5th gets CL you might need 65 points for CL this season.
I think 87 points should get the title.
The bottom newly promoted teams are actually quite good. Lost by small margins.

Of the Championship. I don't get all this nonsense about they need time. They spent over a billion on a load of duds.

Haven't Sheffield united lost 8-0 and 5-0 already this season?
Table topping Spurs were behind after 97 minutes.
The managerial merry-go-round is actually quite late this season.
How Heckingbottom, Kompany, Iraola, Edwards and Cooper are still clinging on is beyond me.
Everything they achieved last season is irrelevant and we've seen that time after time. The Premier League is cut throat and relegation is brutal. The teams at the bottom are in serious risk of being completely cut adrift already if they don't change something soon.

Yeh that was ridiculous. That`s football though, you always get the odd shock. Spurs still won though, so no harm done. Expect them to probably win 4 or 5 nil at Bramall Lane in the return match.
When there are a lot of freak results where the small teams beat the big teams, people like Sandy say the league is a poor standard. Yet when the big teams consistently beat the small teams, the same people say the same thing, that the league is a poor standard. So which is it? Please enlighten me OP.

Both mate. Prem is currently the poorest standard top to bottom it has ever been. It has become very uncompetitive.

I think this is a classic case of you saying something just to wind people up. The Premier League has dominated European competitions in recent years. It's nonsense to say the stand of the PL is poor top to bottom.

European leagues are rubbish right now. That's why the Prem dominates. Doesn't mean it is quality though just because of domination. West Ham winning a European trophy shows you how poor European football is right now.
Yes Sandy, all the European leagues are rubbish, the world is no longer producing many good footballers despite the huge reach and global popularity of the sport and the billions spent on coaching and development around the world. Not to mention world class training facilities, improved nutrition and professionalism in the sport.
Of course in the 60s when players smoke, drank heavily and ate an unhealthy diet the standard was better. Time for you to name a few household names from that era to 'prove' your rather silly point.

I enjoy going to WHL when I can, but very few modern footballers float my boat these days. Lots of hype, but very little substance. It's the era of hype mate where you have to do very little to be apparently the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Remember when Jadon Sancho was being hyped up to become England's greatest ever player. Now he has vanished without trace. Same with Dele.
