Mauricio Pochettino reception

Morning Don, need to make it as hostile as possible for Chelsea and Pochettino, without any personal abuse

Pochettino is nothing to do with Spurs now, and the fans should not be making it easy for him under any circumstances.

I like to think the Tottenham fans would be respectful enough to applaud him, so I'll go for option 2.

Stuffing them 6-0 and Pochettino getting the boot would be something I could only dream of.

Not a Spurs fan, but 2 is what I'd consider common decency.

Might not have won the silverware everyone craved, but otherwise the bloke took Spurs to places the club had never been, oversaw some seasons of highly entertaining football, and had Spurs seated at the top end of English and European competition more regularly than at any other time in decades. All that, despite facing severe budget restrictions that in some seasons prevented him from meaningfully reinforcing the team.

Each to their own, but despite the (relatively) high stakes and the rivalry, recognising loyal servants is still the decent thing to do.

Pre kick off I really hope he gets a massive round of applause with say 30 seconds of shouting his name followed by Big Anges name for the rest of the game and a 4-0 victory ending with you’re getting sacked in the morning!!!! 😂😂

It should be hostile pre match - it should be a cauldron not a love in.

After the match, we should show our appreciation, even more so if we have 3 points.

We can be respectful whilst also creating a red hot atmosphere.

Due to the way he was sacked, the fans never got a chance to say farewell. This will be their first opportunity to do so.

100% a round of applause for him, but not the rousing reception he might’ve hit had he come back as manager of say Villa or Everton. He did a very good job for us, taking us to new heights in the PL, while navigating the stadium move, then a CL final, all on a much lower net budget than his competitors of the time. He was always classy and dignified, in tune with the fans and as for taking the Chelsea job? We sacked him, it’s 4 years later, he lives in London, they’re paying him a fortune. At this point I can’t blame him.

None of the above means I want him to do well at Chelsea, I want him to fail miserably and if we stuff them and he gets the sack as a result then so be it, that’s just one of those ironies that occurs in football.

But I don’t think that’ll happen - his Chelsea have played better against the better sides who open up against them which we absolutely will, so I think it’ll be a tough game. And, even if we do beat them handily I think Chelsea are in it for the long haul with Poch as a project, not to mention the disastrous financial cost of sacking and appointing yet more managers.

As I said when he was touted for a return to us after Conte left, I think he peaked as a coach around 17/18 and is past his best now. Can’t see him doing amazing things at Chelsea. Bit of polite appreciation for Poch, absolutely no boos that would be a disgrace, but then a lot of big love for Ange to remind everyone that we’ve moved on.

LOL took Spurs to places the club have never been!!!! You do know Spurs won the Double, back to back FA Cups twice, 1st British team to win a European Trophy.

Of course it should be hostile. Spurs are not a charity or the Derby and Jones club. Chelsea and Pochettino are Spurs rivals, and have to be treated as such.

Ignore him and just support our team. No need for either

Poch pretended to love Spurs, then he showed his true colours. Blue!

You would have to be a bigoted moron not to appreciate what Poch did for our great club.

That said he’s their boss now and I can’t stand that club. I’ll be showing my discontent to Poch by cheering on Ange and the boys till my throat hurts.

Fook Poch on Monday. Any fan who wants to clap the manager of Chelsea, our rival, should wait for their team bus to arrive and suck him off as he gets off. Go that extra yard for your idol if he means that much.

Every Chelsea game I have been to Lane, the atmosphere around the ground different. You can feel it in the air. We need to be nice to anyone. Only IF we are winning we should sing his name to rub it into their Tory, Russian loving fan base. Basically use him as banter.

We don't need to be nice to anyone*

I personally will applaud him before the game. Just as I applaud ex players that return with new clubs.

After the starting whistle all sentimentality will go out of the window and I'll only be focused on Big Ange and Spurs.

Quick round of applause for Poch before we go on & and stuff them 4-0. another one afterwards if he's on the pitch at the end shaking hands. I have no problem with him. He has his family settled in London and took the best job available. He didn't walk out on Spurs, Levy sacked him. Had we offered him the post after Conte I suspect he would have jumped at the chance to come back.

I like Poch & think he's decent guy. He did a really job at Spurs given the circumstances (Stadium build etc).. wish he hadn't joined Chelsea but I get why he did.

I’m gutted the game is on a Monday night and I won’t be able to make it.

I’d clap him if I was there.

Hopefully we get the win.
