Newcastle have lots of injuries so if we do lose tonight I expect it won't be a hammering. There's even talk of Howe possibly resting 2/3 of his back 4 including Trippier.

I'm not confident we will win either. The team hasn't given us enough signs over the first few months of the season to suggest we can win this one. Let's hope they can turn it around starting tonight.

I said after the City game that these next 3 games are vital for Erik. Should we not win any of them he's going to be in serious trouble.

I'm hoping for a United win, it would be perceived as a good win against strong opposition (in reality it is a game that means vey little) and be enough to keep Megamind in the job.

Of course. This is how football is though at this level. You're only ever 3/4 games from a crisis and also hitting amazing form. The narrative changes so quickly.

I think the reason we've all been so dejected is the performance levels maybe more so than the results. Obviously winning helps but I think the fanbase has gone past the point where winning 1-0 or 2-1 every other week but playing abysmal football just isn't sustainable.

Surely we have to have a purple patch soon? I'd even take that and 5/6 weeks of good football right now. Just give us something to enjoy Erik. 😂

And the truth about our situation would still be well known. I said earlier, i would prefer if we were playing well and losing because none of this wins have been close fo convincing. The last convincing win was the last league cup game against palace.

If the likes of Mainoo, Garnacho and Hannibal get a start tonight I’d at least expect a more upbeat performance

Not so much wrist slitting as facing reality which is quite commendable for football fans plus there is a dark humour to it all

It's Newcastle, so I reckon the game will last 120 mins tonight, and then extra time after that.

TBH I find United fans to be the most realistic. Ask any fan at all and they will tell you United are crap and have been for the last 10yrs

Where as you have Arsenal/Liverpool/Spurs fans who think they are and have been amazing for the last 10.

Find me another "top team" thats won 1 league title in the last 10 years... I'll wait.
