ETH IN

I’m ETH in, but more so because I don’t want us to need to start all over again, again, rather than expectation he will improve us.

Think you have 3 and 5 the wrong way around

It is a project but one that must have a happy ending. So I will keep him to the end of the season (unless relagation looms and its time for Big Sam on a 3 month contract) .. If ETH turns it round in that time the project is back on.

Even in desperate times, I've never called for the manager to be sacked. We have bigger problems.

GLAZERS OUT!

It is like dating. We have been on loads of dates and a lot of them look like potential relationships then it goes a bit stale. Doesn't mean we need to stay with them just because society tells us we have to. As a club I think it is time we spent a lengthy period being single to really get to know ourselves before being ready to offer ourselves to managers again and try and build a more sustainable and loving relationship. Let's go out and try new things on more of a casual basis. Bielsa for a month, Zidane for a CL match or two, just faaack about for a bit. We all do it at some point in our lives.

I'm all for EtH staying till the end of the season but the players don't look like they are playing for him ATM.

It's really hard for a manager to turn it round once it gets to that point... One can only hope...

FFS have you not been listening to me for the past few years? I literally came out as the world's first gay football fan quite some time ago. Clearly not mentioning it enough.

Not sure how anyone could really vote for 3 or 5, the end of the season is a long way away let alone another year.

Exactly. I voted 2, which is somewhere between he goes now, and sees the season out.

Imagine a lot of rival fans have which makes these types of polls absolutely pointless.

If we lose at Fulham and Copenhagen he will be sacked during the International break is my feeling.

He's lost the players now, and also a good portion of the fanbase, so there's no way back now.

It's absolutely true that firing him and replacing might and probably won't work either but they can't leave a manager in place who is losing game after game after game either.

It's not all his fault but he's got to take the blame for on the pitch stuff.

Sorry, Erik, but with a heavy heart I voted 1 ⭐

I think he's been done for some weeks now, and I don't see the sense in prolonging the inevitable.

Not sure how we progress from here though 😔

I really want to see ETH off loaded in the what is typical Sporting Director tasks, in order to see him as a tactical manager. Evans for Varane

ETH is current state is a no no for me, obviously. But I hope this will improve, not so sure though.

5* (heart is taking)
I've seen this movie before, that 2nd season...
Real M, Barcelona, Bayern would surely have sacked him by now. And we want to perform like them, right..

If EtH was to be sacked.
I'd love a tactical brilliant British manager, with Pierce Bronan looks.
Does he exist? No

It’s very sad we have arrived at this situation but I think he has lost the trust of the senior players albeit a few tw@ts in their midst who are as much a part of the problem.

The bookies have him 2/1 for the chop,we have a run of very difficult away games in front of us including another potential Anfield massacre looming, hard to see a good outcome that doesn’t end in a 1*

You have tonlook another stats around chances greater, goals from forwards, and goals conceded. Anyone who has watched our games cab see how easy it is it run through our midfield. That's not the players, that's the system. We give to much importance to the CBs when we are in possession, the midfield doesn't come and get the ball and take control. That's in everyg game, and by design not by mistake or lack of effort. All the players ahead of the ball are static and don't move. Out of possession, the midfield is not cohesive. Neville keeps complaining about a man to man system we deploy, and he may be right. These players all produce for their countries, so it can't be put on them or the Glazers. ETH has just got it wrong. There were signs of it last season, although we got away with it. But March onwards, teams got us sussed and we have struggled ever since.

ETH needs to drop the stuborness and arrogence, and try to change things, quickly! Otherwise, he'll be gone by the end of the month.
It's not easy mid season, and it's highly unlikely he'll find the solution in time.

Well as we saw yesterday... The quality of players he has to call on beyond this first 11 is pretty depressing...

Another barbecue maybe

It's a long term project, he needs time, he needs a visionary DoF to work on building a squad for the future, one that is sustainable beyond any manager.

However, while we seek long term success and stability Eth needs to show incremental improvements. So, what exactly was last season? Possible new manager bounce plus tactics and ideas new to all the players, they all bought into Eth and his plans. This term Eth has not been helped with injuries in key areas like defence, he has not been helped by Casemiro's sharp fall from grace, etc. Eth is therefore putting out more fires than he needs to. It also looks like this squad simply not good enough to sustain a high energy, high press game based on control and possession. He has temporarily halted what he believes in, maybe he has made this point to the squad and maybe it has not gone down too well, who knows. What we are seeing as a compromise is a mess, it simply is not working, it is neither possession based nor counter attack. The players look like they've never kicked a football at professional level especially from a defensive POV.

The "team" concedes too easily, does not create or score enough, it's relegation form, which makes no sense given the talent in the squad. The dilemma for the board is do they give Eth time to get things right or do they bite the bullet and fire yet another manager who has not finished what he started? 18 months to overhaul a mess 10 years in the making is simply not enough. One thing for sure this squad is full of players with the wrong character and profile, it hides when the going gets tough.

What an absolute mess, 10 years in the making!

Out of the frying pan and into the fire? He's very wealthy, why would he want to reduce his life expectancy deliberately?

Stay in the frying pan, Erik. Cook up something we are craving.
