Conte.

At least he might ruin us as much as we ruin him.

Quid pro quo, Dr Lecter. Quid pro quo.

De Zebri would probably accept the role.

Think Emery would be tempted, but find it difficult to leave Villa right now.

I'm not sure either would take the role. I understand Utd are a big draw, but I think they could wait out other roles that would also be big and could also further increase their stock.

Agreed, can’t see anyway either take the job at this point in the season. Too much to lose and both in contention to fight for top 4 which would be a massive achievement.

Hafi or Giggs until the end of the season, tough call

De Zerbi would probably be a bit nuts to take the job right now.

Nagelsmann might be an option if he was willing to split his duties with the German national team.

But because we're halfway through whatever it is ETH is or was trying to do, and have just spent a fortune recruiting for him, it's really not clear what sort of manager to bring in. Which of course brings us back to the footballing operations issue. Until there is clear alignment between the footballing style, the squad building department, the profile of players required and the manager who can execute that on the training pitch and matchday, we'll be in the same place 18 months from now.

We won’t sack ETH until we mathematically cannot get top five, everybody needs to wind it back in, it’s United we have zero accountable senior direct management to make a decision like this mid season.

Our home form saved us last season plus Spurs and Pool being crap, much tougher this year and when did we last have anything but a negative goal difference

There's also little value sacking ETH and bringing in someone else before Jim Ratcliffe likely takes over the sporting side of the club unless we went down the interim route.

If you owned MU what would Ratcliffe be saying that possibly persuaded you that his minority shareholding merited control over arguably the most important aspect of the business? What narcissist has ever done this before?

Well the Glazers want to sell and they want to maximise their take for the sale. So if handing over a failing part of the business to someone turns out to make that part of the business really successful, the overall value of the business goes up, meaning their 75% stake is worth more than it is now despite not being in control of the bit that could possible drive the value up.

In any case the Glazers are leaches. Absolute vermin the lot of them. They're rich already beyond their wildest dreams and they'd be able to stuff their bulging pockets yet still further by selling the club for any of the amounts touted (between £4-6bn). That they're clinging on is a disgrace.

That's a big if mind you.

But yes agree with the last part. They're already loaded, but they cling on wanting more
