Takeover 'needs clarity' for ETH future

The takeover mess could be a blessing in disguise then. Come on Erik, get your shiiit together!

With how long this takeover has drawn out, Jim will probably have just 25% of the club for the next 15 years, thus complicating things even more at the top.

We need the Glazers gone completely

On one hand the BBC say there needs to be clarity around his position, on the other they state the rules mean Ratcliffe and the Glazers cannot discuss such matters.

Great journalism.

As the only bidder Sir Jim would be an absolute mug to give the Glszers 1.5 billion for 25% of the club, obtaining the balance of shares would cost a crippling amount of money even before stadium re development etc is considered it’s just not economically viable with borrowed cash, only a state bidder like Qatar could fund it while dealing with the current debt levels.

If Jim pulled out the Glazers would be exposed to the reality of the situation and the true value of a debt ridden decaying institution, nothing they have done deserves the payout they are looking for and I cannot believe Jim is stupid enough to play their game.

Agreed. If he pulled out, it would out the Glazers in a very bad position. In fact he should go as far as putting out a statment saying the club is overvalued. The Glazers would need additional financing to keep things running and banks would not lend it to them. At a lower value they would be over leveraged. If we get points deductions fore failing to hit PL finacial metrics, then so be it.

They could probably be right about both claims. If that is the case then its quites a well researched piece of journalism

Maybe the Glazers are now playing Jim's game.

All this crap that the club has further found itself in since the new season, was not even on the horizon at the end of last season, which by literally everybodys standards was a successful first season for Ten Hag. The project was progressing well and Ten Hag was given money to spend. What has happened with the results and playing style since has completely changed the game I reckon.

In fact, at the end of last season the mood and prospects for the club were very similar to those that prevailed at the end of Ole's full season when United acquired Varane and Ronaldo ready for the new season

It seems to be a cycle that pushes the club backwards no matter whos in charge of football or how much is spent in the transfer window.

Is Sir Jim going to play in Central Midfield?

Any impact from his possible arrival must be seen as longer term, right? Regardless of who's running the football side, what steps out on the pitch every week is still not good enough or coached well enough.

You are right... that buying good players is the answer to progress. But who decides what a good player actually is. Obviously the manager thought Mount Hojland Amrabat Antony etc were good and what he needed. So must have Murtough and the rest of the football operations agreed with him.

He'd probably be better than Casemiro right now.

What's actually happening with the Ratcliffe bid, been a bit quiet recently and the pace at which the Glazer's get things done I don't see it getting sorted anytime soon.

In the meantime keep EtH in and let him ride the storm and see what he can do.

I read one of the issues the players have with EtH has been his treatment of slabhead. Of course this could be media nonsense but if players are upset the manager stripped a player of the armband because he doesn't think he's good enough and was happy to sell him in the summer but nothing materialised so we kept him and used him when the manager wanted to, then our players are a bunch of cuuunts.

Ive heard that they are not happy with the way Sancho is been treated either.

Player Power still seems to run the club

posted on 3/11/23

It's pathetic. How he's treated Sancho isn't even bad, the lads been awful and supposedly wasn't happy in training when he realised he wouldn't be starting against Arsenal so didnt put any effort in. That's not good enough and any manager would be annoyed and have every right not to play him. For Sancho to then come out and claim publically that the manager lied is pathetic and he still won't apologise. The lads a pr-ck and so too are any players who are siding withi him on this.

It's mad after this many years that we still seem to have a squad full of entitled pr-cks. I've no doubt the running of the club filters down into how our players ultimately care about the clubs themselves. We've all said it a million times before but until the Glazer's are out nothing will change.

its mad who many of United's fan base cant see this yet. Who think that sacking the manager everytime is the acyual answer. Until they will want to sack the next guy.

The longer time goes on, how much longer can we say its the players just downing tools every few seasons? And if so, why do players seem to do it only at Manchester United?

The longer time goes on, the more i think there is to it than just 'the manager is sh!!t'.

All these players coming in and going, they can't all be crap and have the mentality of a 4 year old can they?

no they are not.

And all the managers and coaches weve had havent all been crap either.

The problem runs deeper than this.

YES.

The takeover can't need anything. How do you give ownership a resolution? It's just meaningless words

Like, are the Glazers going to fack off or stay and is Jim and his mates going to make a take over hostile or not, sooner rather than later. And when all that is made clear and resolved then United can finally get on with the business of running a sporting club
