It's great having a manager come out and say the business needs to be done early, and not just that it needs to be done. The timing of signings has been a frequent issue with Spurs and it is inherently a Levy thing.
There are probably like 3 or 4 games during the Jan transfer window before you get to the deadline so the longer it's left, obviously the less impact they'd be able to have in those games.
Levy needs to spend and can't take all window haggling over getting a deal 1 or 2 million pound cheaper. He's been told by Ange, the ball is in his court. It could be as important as dictating whether we win the league or not.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What it tells me is that Ange knows who we want already - Baldy bollox should be on the phone already and getting these lined up for the first hour the windows open
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This will be Levy's chance to learn from previous mistakes and show us he's turned a corner. We know he's willing to spend when things have gone poorly, but not so much when things are going well and we want the extra push to do more than simply finish in the top 4.
We should at the least be identifying targets already.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They should be identified and we should be talking to all those were allowed to talk to.
This season is a CB injury away from going to schitt
----------------------------------------------------------------------
True, if it's a significant injury. We already dropped points in the league to Brentford and went out of the cup thanks to direct contributions from Sanchez. Although Dier is at least a bit more capable than Sanchez when his head is screwed on, but it's still a major risk. Maybe Phillips would do a better job as back up?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wouldn’t want to risk Phillips at this point. Jarrod Braithwaite from Everton, Guehi from Palace - that’s what we need, that sort of level.
Eze up top to give us Maddison cover as well as other positions
Would love to see us drop £120m on these lads
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd love to see us try but cannot see Palace selling us Guehi and Eze together in January. It feels unrealistic from Levy's point of view to spend that much as well.
One of spurs biggest problems is they never seek to improve from a position of strength. They’re just reactionary, buying when things have gone to sh 1t
It makes me laugh all these people saying we have to hope for no injuries until January. We have to hope for no injuries until FEBRUARY. That detestable muppet will drag things out until the last second for the sake of a few quid at the expense of the actual football team.

Good god no, not Dier. He’s far too slow and technically incompetent on the ball to play Angeball. Ange picked Sanchez ahead of him when we lost Romero because Sanchez - despite being horrific on the ball - at least had pace.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see us move for Lloyd Kelly at CB as apparently his data matches what we want, and ex-Celtic Jota back from Saudi.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sanchez has more pace but I see Dier as being a bit less clumsy. Don't want to see Dier play for us again either ideally.
I'm happy to go with someone who isn't necessarily a big name if they are who we/Ange wants and the data matches. Vicario and VDV taught us this.

CB. Maybe a LB. CM if Hojbjerg goes. LW if there's a good one going cheap. Sancho loan?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sancho
Bad attitude, poor form, not prem proven.
Bales poor knowledge strikes again
Although we know the squad is thin, it actually doesn't feel to me like there's actually as much as a need for new players as normal. Last season it felt like we needed a new everything.
Also doesn't seem like we've got loads to offload either. Dier will be down to weeks left by Jan. Really only NDumbelend, Lo Celso + maybe a tough chat with Skipp.
Goal's sorted (finger's crossed).
We seem alright in midfield.
I don't see full back as that much of a priority. Maybe someone who could cover right back (how is Spence doing anyway wherever he is)? Or if there's one available a top class right back, but not really needed.
Could do with another quality centre back but going to be tricky getting someone to come to sit on the bench waiting for an injury. Also don't really need to get someone on a long contract with potentially 2 youngsters not far off coming through. Maybe an experienced player on loan for the rest of the season? Or a Gallas type signing would be perfect.
Up top, we've got what? Kulu, BJ, Son, Richi. Plus Gill. Maybe Sessegnon, or if we get a top class RB in then maybe Porro could be pushed up. Veliz as well. That seems ample tbh unless there's someone of real quality available.
So it's really probably 2 or at a real push 3 signings we're talking about. In a real dream world, could also maybe get rid of Lo Celso.
Maybe Scarlett to come into the 1st team next season as well.

Sancho loan... no thanks

He's decent though. Even if he just turns it on for a few months to make a point he'd be worth it IMO. At half his current wages, obvs.

Ace has already said Lloyd Kelly and Jota - both very realistic in my opinion. We were all over Lloyd Kelly previously.
Beyond that, Celtic fans will tell you that Ange casts his net far and wide and will be aware of an absolute baller in the Armenian 3rd division - we will have to wait and see on those types of transfer
