In all honesty, Chelsea were not very good, we have some very average players and the team are still strangers to one another, so a lot of work to do.
Man City must be rubbing their hands in glee after watching that circus last night.

Well ,were are where we are.

But a 4-1 win at 3PL is a positive at this point.

Next up City

To be honest, I thought we looked better when it was 11 v 11, we had three goals disallowed in that period which says a lot.

However we seemed to struggle against 9 men strangley enough.

Fair play to Spurs though, they never gave up and made a game of it, have to say I grudgingly admire the attitude of Ange and his never say die approach to the game, even if his high line probably contributed to the size of our victory last night!

Yeah, i like the squad to a point, but the issue for me is the lack of strength in depth considering the money spent.

The fact we are not yet at a level to challenge for a fifth place also grinds my cogs.

Agreed fair play to Ange and Spurs, although that approach will not win a title.

The 9 man high line gifted us the result.

As for us, well, City and Newcastle next up, lets see how we come out of that.

I think we're going to have to be patient with this squad iffy. It's got the makings of a good squad but very young, give them time and a clinical striker and we have a lot to look forward to in 18 months hopefully!

Brummie, yes mate its a slow burner

hello u230, agreed about Palmer, we are fortunate to have him, he is a huge prospect going forward!

Yeah, taking Colwill off at HT was a must do.
Last thing we wanted was to go down to ten men.

Poch needs to have a word with him about his temperament, which I suspect he will this morning!

I think the question for Spurs, now is do they have enough strength in depth to cope with the suspensions ?

Hmm. 10v11 yes, but 9v11 it went beyond admirable & became genuinely stupid.

Against other teams maybe a different story, but the thing is they could've won that game whenever they wanted, the entire league knows what to do to beat us, or at least prevent us scoring, i.e. defend deep & narrow. And their players know that style from previous management. At 9 men they really should've cut their losses & settled for 1-1.

No complaints but it's hard to respect the fact they basically gave us 3 free points there.

I didn't say it wasn't stupid, just I admired the attacking intent!

It's the fact it was us that made it stupid! It might sound bonkers but doing that vs. Man City would've been different. That team will found a way through against nine however you play, so still defiantly swinging in that scenario would be very brave as you're risking a really embarrassing score line.

They gave us our perfect storm. They know are weaknesses & still played to our strengths in a situation they couldn't possibly win - pride comes before the fall!

OP

You didn't score one legitimate goal against an 11 man Spurs, but you did concede.

If you want to spin you scored seven legitimate goals, then I think football isn't for you.

Oh by the way Sandy , i never suggested that all 7 were legit.

The point was your goal was penetrated 7 times, which is fact!

Everyman and his dog understands that - apart from one individual who struggles to get his head around the most basic of things!
