"United fans, seems like ETH is a dead man walking. Don't be afraid to move on and embrace a whole new approach. I cannot help but think that Utd should be building for the future, accept some time away from any expectation of challenging and just a proper reset, with youth and hunger."

I'll focus on this because this is our problem. We've tried all different styles of manager now and it's the same every 2 or 3 years of bringing a new one in.

We keep trying this new fresh approach with a new manager and it's been the same not just for years & years, but now a decade.

I'm of the opinion we need a 'new fresh' approach in the way the club is ran. My opinion is that if the entire club is ran differently, then eventually the football team will be ran differently, for the better.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ange said something early on which sounds simple, bordering on stupid but actually rings very true.

To effect change you have to change things. I look at United and i see many of the same faces who have underwhelmed over a period of time. I look at a style under Ole which was focussed on counter attacking and did well and tried to evolve into a more pressing and domination style and failed. I have seen ETH do the same thing and now return to that 'direct' approach.

United look to lack legs and have done for several years now, thats why pressing under Ole failed and now it cannot be sustained by ETH. Any more adventurous approach leaves you wide open as the middled in one paced and the defence has no pace.

When i say a fresh start i mean it, like Arsenal did. Putting faith in younger energetic hungry players and getting the old heads around them (the good ones)to really contribute, like they did with Xhaka , and get rid of the garbage/trouble.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

They also have no real strategy. Carra saying he can’t see what ETH is trying to do - I think that’s very true in the football we watch them play but even more so in transfers they make. They don’t buy elite players, they don’t buy the best youngsters, they don’t buy players to fit a system, they have moved on from buying “names”. The only discernible strategy is buying mediocre players from the Eredivisie that ETH knows.

It’s like Goldbridge says, ETH bought Antony despite knowing his game inside and out and surely knowing his weaknesses and limitations, ditto Onana, yet he still bought them
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To me it seems were in a bit of an era where big clubs aren't making that many elite signings.

Look at City, I'd never heard of Doku ( sounds like Gokus long lost nemesis) and he's now keeping Grealish on the bench. Half the City team I'd never heard of before they'd signed. I'd only heard of Haaland, Grealish.

Look at Arsenal, maybe Rice their sole big name signing?

It's not about signing mega names it's about buying the right profile of player to fit with the managers system. But if there's a bloated squad of players that fit systems of numerous other managers then it's gonna take years to overhaul it all

Spurs might have actually won a trophy had they appointed ETH.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah we don’t get dream draws like United
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You got knocked out of last seasons cups by Sheffield Utd and Nottingham Forest. This season you got dumped out by Fulham
----------------------------------------------------------------------
All away from home

Man United league cup run = Villa (H), Burnley (H) Charlton (H) Forest over 2 legs and Newcastle in the final

Man United FA cup run = Everton (H) Reading (H) West Ham (H) Fulham (H) Brighton in the semi and City in the final

This seasons league cup for Man United = Palace (H) Newcastle (H)

Now I don’t know who you will draw exactly in the 3rd round of the FA cup but I bet you are at home.

Like I said, Spurs don’t get dream draws like United

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Just checked, the last time Man United were drawn away in a league cup tie was 2020

3 years of home draws in a row
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Chelsea are another that get an astonishing number of home draws, mostly against cannon fodder in the cups.

Arsenal have signed lots of big name signings Jesus, Havertz, Jorginho, Zinchenko etc.

He lost to Spurs in a high pressure game. The warning signs were there.

Yeah not quite sure what this guy was on about. I think most had heard of Doku and the summer before that City signed an absolutely elite striker in Haaland and the summer before Dias and Grealish. Elite players.

It’s all very well United saying he has to overhaul the squad - he does, but so did Ange and he is doing with Youth, ETH is adding Eriksen and Casemiro to the Centre of midfield, buying shiete at RWF and downgrading on the keeper.

I don’t know if it is United getting luck or us being unlucky, but the amount of away draws we get is insane and a major factor to our managers rotating us out of these comps.

Arsenal had a run of unbelievably fortunate draws for a while also.

Out of interest, who’s currently injured at United?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
shaw, martinez, and casemiro are the main ones, with shaw's back-up also out, hence the reguilon loan
----------------------------------------------------------------------

who then got injured...

we had at one point just Dalot, Maguire and Evans available in defence.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Injuries have no doubt affected United but more so have schitt transfers and ETH falling out with players - plus having a couple of wrong uns (allegedly)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The more aspect of managing a club is to have a clear and simple style of play or brand of football, that the players and fans can buy into
I don’t get ETH style at all

It’s not enough to try to dominate opponents you still need a style of play.

Also ETH subs are almost puzzling except when he takes off a player to safeguard him from another card or further injury

Spurs fans are certainly enjoying the massive turn around in mood (even ignoring the results), its so refreshing and fans should enjoy every moment because this time next year Ange might be facing the same issues at ETH is now. You never quite know what's coming in football.
