Euro 24 Q-update

Thought England still needed a point in N. Macedonia to be seeded.

Are Ukraine likely to get a playoff should Italy progress?

posted on 18/11/23

Yeah, would take a freak set of results for Ukraine to miss out.

I believe it would take an 11/12 goal swing for England to miss out on top seed, so not quite guaranteed but pretty safe.

Guaranteed seeds: Germany Hosts, Portugal (won every game)

Likely seeds: England (almost certain, technically need a point) France (similar to England) Spain

Final seeded place - probably Belgium, if they beat Azerbailjan at home tomorrow.

The playoff sides will be bottom seeds - the rest to be decided

Good work.

Not looking forward to Armenia now though. The kind of game we've traditionally messed up!

Keeping an eye on Kazakhstan and Luxembourg - would love at least one of them to make it, both sides have improved massively recently and UEFA’s playoff path C gives them a chance - although Kazakhstan could still qualify the traditional way.

Genuinely though, this tournament should be France, England, Portugal all in the semis - 3 sides head and shoulders above the rest, although we all know Croatia will be incredibly dangerous also if they get there

Armenia take the lead with a grate strike.

Wales should be ahead here. Had loads of chances to put one or two away.

If they lose to these again they don’t deserve to go next year.

I’d it on any normal channel?

BBC iPlayer has it, but other than that just S4C and viaplay I think

Aren’t Wales nailed on for a playoff spot though even if they don’t qualify via the group?

They massively miss Bale

Not nailed on but would take a series of shocks.
Croatia, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland and Czech Rep are all higher than Wales, so if three flopped then Wales would miss out. Odds on that happening will be massive.

Yeah I'm watching on iPlayer

Cheers. Might switch then as I’m watching on DAZN.

Surprised Dan James hadn’t started. He’s on fire at Leeds

Thanks

Well Croatia would benefit if Wales miss out, so really it’s 2 of the rest, Netherlands and Switzerland are nailed on. Two bites of the cherry for Wales.

Do you know what path they would be?

Wales 1-1

posted on 18/11/23

Will take that stroke of luck.

At 1-1 Armenia need to win so there should be space for Dan James and Brennan Johnson later on to score on the break.

If you have Freesat you can find S4C on there too. It'll be ahead of the coverage on BBC iPlayer!

If Armenia win today and Tuesday they will finish above Croatia and Wales.

The likely route for Wales, if games go to the odds, would be a non-group winner from league b. Think they draw it.
Then the winner of Poland-Estonia in the final (so Poland)
If Wales finish above Croatia then Croatia get Estonia.

Might as well watch Armenian TV as I can’t understand a word 🤣

Back to DAZN it is 😉

If Wales and Croatia win their remaining games then all three of Croatia, Turkey and Wales will be on 16 points.

Croatia have a better head to head against Turkey but is head to head relevant?

Wales would need to win 3-0 over Turkey to take that head to head.

Would be H2H between the 3 teams:

Wales 7pts
Turkey 6pts
Croatia 4pts

James on.
