Over here they have VAR in the 2nd div, the money running around the Championship has me wondering why they don't have it in the Championship!..
If we'd had it last night there would have been a good shout for a penalty and Bamfords offside would have been questioned because it was a very close call!..
People arguing the for's and againsts about VAR but when its not there close calls will go either way!..
“I like the guy…but he is not what we need in our team.”
π
So you are blaming Bamford for us not winning last night?
You are without doubt someone who has no idea about football!
That’s my polite description!
I didn't see the game, recorded it with the intention of watching it later as I was meeting a friend who is undergoing treatment on his prostate (I know PSA tests are not 100% reliable but guys they might be worth looking into).
Anyway, I may or may not watch it, but having read and seen other accounts of the game:
Piroe was largely anonymous and when he did have the ball was selfish.
Firpo was out of position a lot of the game was poor and when called upon, struggled to get back for their goal.
Cooper was slow in getting back to cover the danger that resulted in the goal.
Meslier should have got across to save at his near post.
James passing was awful throughout.
Gray and Rodon did little to cut out the danger that led to the goal.
The mid-field did little to negate the long ball threat from Rotherham's throws so the ball kept coming back.
Poveda came on and did nothing with the ball.
There was a realistic shout for a penalty that the ref ignored/missed.
The whole team turned up expecting to just role over Rotherham.
Farke took far too long to make any changes that may have had an impact on the game.
I have no doubt Bamford played his part but aren't you somewhat ignoring everything else that went on just for convenience?
I don't rate him, he needs to go but come on, you can't blame him for 2 dropped points last night. Yes he looked awful when he came on, but he was inches offside and was just unlucky. We got what we deserved last night and Bamford shoud be exempt from the criticism imo.
Bamford is in very poor form at the moment and has been since the injuries going all the way back to the England call up, even before that he was never prolific.
He did however possess the ability to hold the ball up bringing others into play, the goals and this have both deserted him.
To address this issue in the summer, we bought Piroe, but how many games do we start with nine outfield players on the pitch. Bamford's lack of form allows Piroe a free pass.
Piroe is obviously an interim measure, not good enough for the Premier League and if we go up we will need to buy better.
For £12m are people happy with Piroe's contribution.
Piroe seems like a pointless signing. Why didn't we go for Hamer or an actual number 10. He has 6 goals and has started to waste a lot of chances recently. I like him but he looks like he's at his level.
Embarrassing thread.
Honestly its an heads gone and on reflection hope the poster asks for it to be removed.
Summerville lost the ball leading up to goal.
Maybe it's his fault we didn't win.
Why do we have to blame someone for the lose when it was obviously a team effort.
We just don't score enough.
Yeah I understand the people on here that get irate about Bamford’s critics - and maybe I’m being harsh about singling him out in last night’s game - but his every increasing catalogue of errors and absolutely shocking performances is becoming too much to ignore now.
And no, I won’t delete the thread to appease the cliquey nonsense that some of you lot have going on here.
The little club of pals.
No one is saying he wasnt poor.
What people are saying is you are pathetic for saying a player who was on for 20 minutes was soley responsible for last nights draw.
Bamford Derangment Syndrom
Blame the whole team, not Paddy...Senseless thread, go and fry an egg !!
Hi Patrick here, Maca has very kindly allowed me to use his account to post a right of reply.
First of all I do care about my performance and I desperately want to prove everyone who thinks I'm arrogant and selfish and don't care about the team wrong.
I also only cup my hands to my ears as banter but also as a sign of defiance to those who have abused me and my family online sending me death threats.Genuine respectful Leeds fans which is 99.9% I love and will always love.
I have unfortunately been blighted by a very painful foot injury which fingers crossed has finally calmed down and slowly but surely I am confident my best form will return.
The couple of times I got myself offside last night was because I did move a split second too quickly especially for the disallowed goal but as a striker even in the championship you do have to gamble on those small parameters paying off in your favour and unfortunately last night the gamble went against myself and the team.
I am sorry I missed all those penalties it wasn't deliberate I swear it was a combination of probably trying too hard and adrenaline which I've accepted now means I won't be taking penalties again apart from potential FA cup extra time ones.
I accept I get very well paid and I am very fortunate to do what 99% of supporters would love to be able to do and experience.
Last night was one of those games when as a team we just lacked a fraction of sharpness due to a number of contributing factors but even so it is clear we still should have won but unfortunately like every game in the EFL we are having to deal with officials who are cants.
Finally the manager and my teammates are now focussed on next week, playing to our maximum and getting 6 points.
Keep the faith everyone,
Yours,
Patrick. MOT
Went 1-0 up became complacent, got punished for wastefulness on the stroke of half time, should have been a wake up call but we didn’t create much in the second half and Rotherham had 2 great chances to go ahead. The only solace to be taken…there’s a long way to go yet.
Bamford aside one way of dealing with the disappointment of the dropped points last night is to say if we had been offered 4 points away from Leicester and Rotherham we'd have definitely taken that. Swings and Roundabouts onto the next one. 29 games to go.
It's an open forum on here and it's inevitable that there will be disagreements. Don't let us be like some other teams forums on here where abuse, stupidity and cliques are the norm.
We're all wanting the same thing at the end of the day.

Infiniteone, very good on you pal. I was going to post a comment supporting your right to express your opinion and asking that you don’t let others intimidate you from doing that. There is an unwelcoming runt of posters on here who delude themselves by thinking they, and only they, know anything about football. However, you’ve expressed your own thoughts on that subject better than I could. Good on yer palπ.

Cheers TLB….I’ve been a member of this board forever…don’t post much but read all the time - never disrespectful to anyone but there is definitely an underlying issue on here that needs to be addressed. Just because an opinion doesn’t align with others, doesn’t mean it’s wrong.
In regards to my original post….I understand it’s a team game and we should win and lose as a team. I don’t like to pile on an individual. But Bamford has always been a polarizing player and his own actions sometimes just don’t help his cause. I want him to succeed, we all do. But how many seasons has this been a topic now? We have some dynamic youngsters in the squad now and I think his time is up (in my opinion).
Thanks for your input Light.ππ€
