Our biggest issue is consistency. Not even between matches, but consistency between halves.
Huddersfield 1st half vs 2nd
Plymouth 1st vs 2nd
Rotherham 1st vs 2nd
Norwich 2nd vs 1st
Also, 6 points dropped vs West Brom, Rotherham and Sheff Weds biggest disappointment - nailed on wins the way we played.
We should smash top 2 - consistency within games massive issue
we’ve gained 19 points from possible 24.
Should have won the other 2.
Are people really expecting us to win every game 🤷🏻♂️

Yep, pleased with where we are re: Ipswich and feel that we can hunt them down, particularly with that Dec 23rd game coming up👍

I agree and I’m not complaining, but there are times we just go from hot to cold. 2 home games to come and Ipswich in bad form with a tough set of fixtures.
With the January transfer window around the corner too - we’re in a great position to launch a serious automatic spot
If we don't drop anymore points to Ipswich then they still have us and Leicester to play so that gap can be chipped away.
Ipswich seem to have hit a real dip at the moment so we could be in a position where we are putting a little daylight between us of we beat them (massive best case scenario that one)
I'm interested to see what we do in January cause I think we have some real strength in depth across the squad buy also question a couple of positions.
January will indeed be interesting … wonder if the 49ers stick or twist?
A14
but its just football, other teams are fighting for their life, goals change games, its sport. Moments change the direction of games, its life.
Dominating every game, simply isnt realistic.
Dont give that sloppy goal, just before half time, we go on and win comfortably.
Yes am annoyed by it, but overall we’ve been rock solid.
The summer disaster, with the contracts, meant we gave everyone a month head start.
Jan is an interesting one, squad looks strong, got to be very careful.

The thing is, as much as I would love to see us spend, I do ask myself where would it go and more importantly why.
We ain't spending on a keeper.
Right back we have three players there and supposedly the best player in the league to come back.
I wouldn't say no to a centreback on account of the fact out of our big three coops is past his best and Rodon is on loan.
Left back I would love to see us improve but I just don't realistically see us being able to bring anyone in, although if we wanted to be real bar stewards we could try for Davis to disrupt Ipswich... (not going to happen but man they would hate that...)
Midfield - ain't going to happen, our centemid area is as good as it needs to be and we have real options on the wing.
Upfront - this could be an area, I just don't know about piroe, I don't know how long we can carry a player who only occasionally shows up and really is missing a lot of the time... but as I say that I think, well it does work though doesn't it.
Bamford... he is contracted to 26, he is on a big wage and he ain't going anywhere, he is in the same boat as coops and ayling, they are players who have peaked and now will be around until their contracts finish... its just that his is a while a way yet.
Thing about Bamford is he could be a useful player to help see games out, being able to bring him on to give summerville, rutter, James or piroe a rest once a game is donw is would be a massive benefit, but he ain't there at the moment.
If you asked me one player we could sign though, and , I know this is a bit of a cheat answer... but man if someone said we could buy Rodon full time I would take that over any and all other signings.
White and Bartley have shown what happens when you depend on loans....

Agree. If there’s no injuries by then there’s a case for leave it as it is. But you can guarantee they’ll be a big bid for Summerville. Got to be
What realistically can we actually spend in January?
No one has ever fully explained to me where we are with respect to FFP, with several players on big money maybe coming back in the summer - Contracted for X years just like Paddy.
By the way, not reading too much into Rotherham result as I felt, particularly second half, seriously affected by Tuesday International duty.
Yes we've ended up getting away with it a bit Friday and the expected damage didn't happen so we must hope that Farke has told the players to make sure they take advantage of this lucky escape and against Swansea and Boro we play our best and get 6 points. I'm mighty relieved we actually cut the gap now to 7 points and if we just gain a couple more at least this week then I think we're bang on course again and the Rotherham disappointment is put to bed.
Yes, results were kind to us and Rotherham result was disappointing BUT we'd have lost that game in previous years and taking a point is always better than nothing.
Profligacy in front of goal and losing focus at critical points like just before HT seem to be the main criticisms - these are problems that can be worked on.
Agree totally that signing Rodon permanently is a MUST - what a great defender he's turning out to be.
I don't think we'll lose Summerville in January - he's enjoying himself too much, I reckon, and the 49ers are apparently wealthy enough not to have to sell him.
Agree with Jaz, not worried about losing Summerville for the main reason we don't need to sell. Worried about not being able to create more clear chances than letting in the odd fluke goal. Our build up play is good so we really have to get more out of it.
Not been overly impressed with Piroe but he's more next year's problem.
Well keep clawing back the points on Ipswich and should be in the automatic
promotion spot by new years.
Spence will be a big plus when he gets back but will cause some good problems for selection and mid field formation.
The only position I'd want to see an upgrade on is backup cb. Not popular but time for cooper to go.

Yes we are in good form, the form tables attest to that.
But, very few teams go through the whole season without hitting the odd patch of poor form, even Revie's teams of the 70's.
I am concerned that at a time when we should be making hay etc, we failed to do so. We will run into a patch of poor form at some point in the season.
Expecting a quiet window signing wise. We have excellent depth in attack so can't see any movement there. Think we could use a midfielder and a centre back if good one become available and the club like them. Been linked to a couple of players but nothing concrete.
Can't believe the criticism Piroe is receiving.
Use the lad in the right way and there's 20 goals in him.
He has a great understanding with Rutter which has been instrumental in our rise up the table.
Shame Rodon and Wober didn’t get to happen.
Wober wanted out, Steross. It's a shame because he's good, but he said he was up for it and then he jumped ship. Can't blame him - but he voted with his wallet and that's that.
Rodon and Struijk are doing alright but we must sign Rodon permanently.
Agree with White as Snow on Piroe. He's a bit of a ghost, to be sure, but he's scoring goals and yes, he works well with Rutter. I think we're going to see more of him as the season unfolds.

I agree with the need to replace Coops, Mont. He is being targetted every time he is on the pitch. That Rotherham striker could easily have won it for them in the second half when he skinned Coops and drew a good save out of Meslier.
The other problem is left back for me. Firpo does not look interested. I can't remember a single block or tackle he put in against Rotherham. Byram is brilliant but as we know, we can't expect him to be fit for every game.
It is interesting that several teams flatlined at the weekend, aprt from Leicester who should have had five or six against Watford (worth watching for Vardy's miss of the season - he is human after all). Southampton and Ipswich were just as bad as we were. One point gained on our promotion rivals, we are still in there.

Yes, time is a cruel master ~ Cooper and Ayling (and, I suspect, Dallas, if he returns at all) are on a slippery slope. And rapidly becoming third-tier fodder - there can’t be any doubt that Liam and Luke are, at best, makeweights and at worst, liabilities. But I hope we can keep at least one of them backroom in some capacity, if only for their positivity.
