Sounds great to me

Leicester and Ipswich still need to play each other twice. Can definitely see Ipswich dropping off not sure about Leicester.

Imagine if we didn’t give the rest a 4 week head-start

I said on Earl's matchday thread there is nothing to say Leicester and Ipswich will go up together!..

They've taken 19 games to get 8 and 7 points ahead of others, there is enough time and points over for anyone just behind to take both places!..

Usually you have a late runner that hits form late on, that could be one that we all have to be aware off!..

Southampton wont finish top two.

Leeds will.

Keep thia squad and maybe a left back, and i’d be very happy

Last year we were adamant we’d stay up. Key injuries around Jan and Feb fexed us up. All it takes is a couple of injuries to the likes of Rodon, Ampadu, Rutter or James and we won’t be looking as strong.

Ifs and buts……

Any of the leading teams losing key players will potentially impact performances/results.

I'll caveat the following sentence that I don't really know the quality of the Leicester/Ipswich squads, but I do think we've got good replacements should we need them. Given Xmas/NY period, plus african comp in NY, then I believe we might be a bit more resilient in the coming weeks.

Agree though ... ifs and buts ........

I am reading that Rodon is keen to make the move permanent in January.
I know this is click bait but we are short of centre backs, what do you think?

Think I read somewhere that Leicester and Ipswich will lose a few players to the African Nations Cup

I think Ampadu has looked far from his best since the international break, the player I would be more concerned about losing to injury is Mr Imperious, Glen Kamara.
Mind you, was there £13m ever better spent?

Yes please (both to Rodon and us finishing in top 2)😁

Ipswich have an Egyptian (Morsy) and a Nigerian (Aluko). Aluko is unlikely to go as he is fringe player at Ipswich.
Morsy much more likely to be selected.
Leicester's squad likely to be impacted to a greater extent by the tournament.

Yes please. I was chatting with a mate of mine who is a Spurs supporter and I said I hope Spurs do not do what Brighton did with White and slap a massive price tag on Rodon. He said it was not likely as Rodon had very little chance of first team action with them. Hope he is right!

Is Rodon premier league level though? I'm not so sure. He reminds me of a young Cooper. He's our best defender, but I wouldn't want us splashing any more than 20 mil on him. Brighton wanted 40 for White .....

As for top 2, can't call it. Think Leicester are going up, its between us Ipswich and Saints. Should be us but it is us after all 😅

In a perfect world where form over the last five games is repeated until the end of the season, where we have taken 13 points out of an available 15, Ipswich 8 and Leicester 7, we win the league by one point over Southampton.
I can dream, cannot I.

I think so, we will certainly need to start to rebuild the defence somewhere.

why are leicester going up, they are starting to struggle.

last five

won 2, drew against bottom of league, spawning against WBA and two defeats

Can't see how you can be so sure about Leicester - of the top four, they're the ones who have been struggling to score. They've recently wobbled and are still not winning convincingly.

Can't be sure about Ipswich ending up in the top two either. Fantastic form to date, to be sure, but can they keep that up for the remaining 65% of the season? We've beaten both of them at theirs.

My only worry is Southampton, who are firing on all four, just like us, and they've managed to do us once already.

Reading the Leicester pages over the last few weeks even their fans aren’t sure they are going up.

I heard it here first and I think it's a good shout. Leicester look the least convincing of the top four at the moment.
Forget playoffs, anything could happen so Leeds for top two is imperative.

Leicester are the only team capable of topping 100 pts.

Whether they do or not remains to be seen.

We are a very, very good team though.

He's better than any of the centre-halves we had during our recent time in the Premiership. Would be terrific to sign him in January.

Bring in another top level centre-half next summer if we go up & we'd be a long way towards staying up.

posted on 5/12/23

If we keep chipping away I can definitely see us catching Ipswich. Not so sure about Leicester.

I'd like to see us sign a number 10 in January. If Rutter got injured I think that would be disaster for us. I know he's supposedly playing as a striker but everything goes through him.
