Yes, pretty much agree with that. Sancho definitely.
Varane, pity but let go when we have a replacement.
Casemiro is the one I'd hesitate over, I'd give him a small run and see if he can get his form back.

Sancho I’d take what we can get an run.
Varane and Casemiro are different for me. If we get decent offers and have replacements lined up (especially Varane) then yes I’d cash in, but otherwise I’d keep to at least the summer.

Varane and Sancho yes- get what we can.

Casemiro I wouldn't be so quick to write off. But wouldn't say no to a big offer

I’d keep Casemiro and get rid of the other two.

Keep all three and sack ETH

It's definitely starting to feel like we are trying to address our wage bill.
Last year it was highest in Europe and currently it is 5th highest.

Casemiro Varane and Sancho are in our top 5 earners so that's definitely going to make the books look a lot healthier if they all go.

Slightly worried about who we bring in to replace them though. No confidence in the current set up to get it right so we have to hope the new look team post Jim's mini takeover will get it right.

Without question ALL 3 must go. At least Varane and Casemiro have had a career to be proud of but Sancho? He's given up before he's made a mark on the game. Biggest waste of space there is.

If there was a chance to get in another quality DM in January but we had to sell Casemiro I'd go for that but otherwise worth keeping faith with him until the end of the season I think.

It's a shame with Varane but his injury record won't get better so I'd let him go if we could get a replacement for him. Todibo has been mooted and seems to fit the bill. Let's just hope Martinez returns as good as ever.

Sancho? Well, nothing much needs to be said. Get rid.

I think Casemiro and Varane, if true, are more to do with bringing cash in and getting their wages off the books. We don't have any other assets that people are willing to pay good money for, and neither have long-term value. So, if Saudi wants them, we may have no choice but to cash in. Also, with the likely hood of no European football in the second half, and maybe next season, we are losing out on a lot of UEFA money.

The only one I’d possibly keep is Casemiro, simply because if he can replicate his form from last season then he’d be key for us. If he can’t then sell in the summer unless we get a silly offer in jan.

Varane I think is good enough but it doesn’t seem EtH does so no point keeping him.

Sancho can eat a d-ck.

Casemiro needs to go on a diet, then he'll be ok again for another season.

Varane - found out that Ramos made him look good and Real knew it. Maguire has had a better last 12 months.

Sancho - the hype and money went to his head like Deli Ali. There is still a player in there, but ETH isn't the man to get him back.

Personally I'd keep them all including ETH. It keeps you uncompetitive for longer.

I would try Casemiro with Amrabat or Mainu before letting him go. Varane is still a top defender and only 30. Both are winners and a positive influence on their teammates. The way Varane organises his defense is second to none. Sancho is a huge disappointment. I have no sympathy and respect for him.

I wouldn’t be against giving Casemiro another chance beside Mainoo. Him and Amrabat together is too limited in possession.

If a decent offer came in we’d be foolish to refuse it though.

Slabhead hasn’t been better than Varane the past year, that’s nonsense. Slabheads form has been good for a couple months but other than that he’s been very poor. Varane last season was very good, his issue is that he can’t stay fit.

Hes a better passer which is as important as anything. He is consistent, another thing with is very important. Fitness is something that adds. Varane relied on many things he just doesn't have.

We need to get rid of Case and Varane now we can get something of value.

This is the thing with Maguire and Mctominay....

Maguire has been our best player for 6 weeks now and whilst Mctominay hasn't been playing well performance wise, he has been scoring important goals.

The problem is we know neither of them are good enough for where we want to go as a team. It seems a bit desperate really from the manager especially since he seemed to be fine with both of them leaving just 5 months ago.

Winning games is better than losing obviously so I get he's trying to find the right formula but there's no future with this team. It's basically survival passion football we have resorted to.

For want of a better term...

Maguire Mctominay the future then? Most people on here never wanted them to wear the shirt ever again 2 months ago. Now we can sell Varane and Casemiro. 😂

Sancho has to go. No question about that. He’s been poor on the pitch and it’s become increasingly clear he’s been poor off the pitch as well.

Casemiro I’d keep until the summer at least. Varane could go if there’s a buyer and a replacement available but I’d also be happy with him until the summer. He’s a still a top defender, but we can’t rely on him to stay fit.

posted on 7/12/23

Is it worth keeping if EtH seemingly has no desire to use him though? Think he’s now played all of slabhead, Lindelof, Evans and Shaw over him recently.

Don't agree with the way Varane has been treated. He was one of our best players last season and a big reason for the 17 clean sheets.

Maguire has been playing well but with him in the team we basically have to surrender the midfield because we drop so deep as a team with him in it due to the lack of pace he has. Makes it so much harder for our front 6 as a result as it's hard to get up the pitch as quickly.

Mctominay hasn't even been playing that well either but he does have a habit of popping up with goals in his defence.

I thought we'd seen the end of this but the second Erik came under the slightest bit of pressure we have resorted back to Maguire n Mctominay. That was my point about 'survival' football. Not survival as in staying up but the manager keeping his job. That's what I meant.

injurys to defenders and midfielders has resulted in mctominay and maguire coming into the team. Ten hag is entitled to use them regardless if they were going to be sold in the summer. They are professional football players contracted to play for the club
