I think its that formation that is so prone to counterattacks is at the heart of a lot of what is wrong with the club. That is solely on ETH.

It's the type of players he's using and how he's using the players within the formation that is the issue as opposed to the formation itself and this has been the case under so many managers.
It's not just the formation.....it's everything.
The system, the style (or lack of), the effort, the ability, the signings, the in game management, the man management of the players as a whole.
We don't have a single thing that is working. The keeper, defence midfield and attack are all equally poor most weeks.
Harry Maguire is now out most important player.....let that sink in for a second. The player he desperately tries to force out is now his go to man.
He's an absolute joker. Time to move on as soon as the takeover is sorted.
Don't care what anyone says, a manager like Emery would coach these players into a top-scoring team. ETH has the system wrong and too stubborn to change
He should never have broken the front three up from
The Chelsea game, against Newcastle ETH had to berate Martial from the touch line to try to get him to move and got no response yet he sticks him up front today a terrible decision called out before the game.
His obsession with Shaw at centre left back when we need him at full back is another ridiculous crusade seemingly to humiliate Varane who obviously can see a manager floundering in a club far too big for him.
We are so easy to play through for any half decent team, cannot win away against any team in the top half of the table and worst of all the Glazers won’t even feck off for 6 billion, we’re cursed.
Chicken and Lamb Tikka with a bottle of Amarone will be my solice tonight to numb the tragedy we have become.
Also transfers shouldn’t be on the manager. This is a problem with the set up of the club.

Its a chicken and egg thing. The formation guides his choices of players. That it is obvious to everyone that he has no player suitable for it is not stopping him from exposing a fragile team to it. Maybe worse is he never signed one player suitable for it (Amrabat Maybe..) Mount, Eriksen have been a failure in terms balancing the midfield.

If his idea of us getting better again is Onana, Antony, Reguillon Amrabat then he doesn't belong at this club.
The formation guides his choices of players.
--------------------------------------------
I'm not sure what guides his choices anymore but there's nothing wrong with 4-2-3-1 or whatever variant people choose to describe it.
We could use any base formation people wish but if certain players don't suit it, they don't work hard enough within it, you leave miles of space between the lines by not pushing up to press as a team and when defending not recovering quick enough collectively and again closing off space between the lines, it is irrelevant what formation you play.
Little tweaks like dropping the second midfielder deeper and ensuring there isn't a chasm of space between defence and midfield and midfield and attack would make a difference to how we defend when we lose the ball but we continue to play so openly.

Under no circumstances do I trust him though or want him to get another season.
Also......you're one to talk. I told you this about this manager 4 weeks ago and you mocked me. Not quite so smug now are you?

Oh they are equally culpable there I agree. Giving ETH control over signings has set us back another 3-4 years now. π

He will back there soon enough to see the benefits of his charity work.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s the issue with this club, hire a manager, he does half decent first season and they give him full control over transfers to do what he wants, then that fails, fire him, hire a new manager and repeat the same process again. These buffoons just don’t learn.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So what then? Carry on and hope he gets better?
If his idea of us getting better again is Onana, Antony, Reguillon Amrabat then he doesn't belong at this club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Abrabat has been our best player in the last two games. You see how stupid you are.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maguire has been out best player actually and got longer than 2 games.
Stupid? You just said Antony is a good player. ππ

This. Don’t see why Amrabat is getting flak at all. He’s not had much of a chance and now in back to back games he’s been good. Probably our best player today.

Nobody yet..... pointless sacking him until the takeover goes through. Liverpool away for a new manager isn't fair either.
Season is as good as over now. Up to the new team to find a replacement in time for next season.

We can carry on sacking until the cows come home and nothing will change. Unless the Glazers depart we will remain dire.

No I haven't. I want him gone. I just don't see the point doing it right now.
Under no circumstances do I trust him though or want him to get another season.
Also......you're one to talk. I told you this about this manager 4 weeks ago and you mocked me. Not quite so smug now are you?
Nobody believes your fake positivity anyway. Clearly a front. You know full well he's soon going to be sacked and I was in fact correct. π
