Exploring the market becomes a possibility if Rob Sanchez injury is long-term and depending on the form of the understudy.
Former academy player Bulka becomes an obvious frontrunning choice, in that scenario.
Yes, the same Bulka that was disposed of under Sarri
Really liked the look of Bulka
But seriously give Petrovic a few games, looked solid preseason, and feel he could do a good job
Bulka looked better than record signing Kepa in pre-season...would have been content with being second choice, playing in the cup matches at the time but as it turned out...was deemed surplus to requirements, with no pathway afforded to him.
Petrovic never had a pre-season, all the more reason why starting him in early rounds of league cup would have been a useful building block.
Our goal keeping situation is absurd.
A club like Chelsea should not be in a position where we are reliant upon prospect keepers.
These players will have a pathway of progression, they will have good days and bad, to be rightly expected.
But the goal keeper is the foundation of the defence.
A goal keeper who is not at the right level will create chaos in the defence.
This situation is another clear example of the abysmal footballing strategy the new owners have implemented.
Could have, would have should have is simply ridiculous for multi billion pound football club, who were C/L , Uefa & Fifa world club champions in 2021.
These players should be allowed to progress under their own pace, in their own time.
In recent times Cfc had a goal keeping line up of Cech, Courtois and Shwarzer. Arguably at the time three of the best goal keepers in world football.
*I should have said , "Arguably at the time the best club side goal keeping trio in the world"
The Cech and Courtois you speak of were brought in as relatively unknown 21 and 19 year old prospects, respectively. Babies.
The latter' emergence led to Cech' eventual departure. Schwarzer definitely not in their bracket of stature or excellence.
Our current goalkeeper situation is the more conventional way of signing goalkeepers.
Make up your mind on what you want / stand for.
Absolutley Mf, But they were ready .
To suggest that they were prospects in the vain of Sanchez & Petrovic is absurd.
Cech displaced Cudicini.
Courtois displaced Cech.
Both within a very short time frame.
Mark Schwarzer was the no 3 goal keeper and he was an elite keeper in his day.
Mf, im confused , in which way you believe im conflicted in what i stand for ?
I would assume by now you would have understood what i stand for in the numerous articles i post.
Possibly you do not care to read them, but i dont think it can suggested im not of a confirmed conviction.
A more conventional way of signing keepers?
What does that even mean ?
? organic growth are you looking for ?
Well, good luck with that, the club does need to strike a balance between having a competitive edge and the luxury of organic growth.
Im not going to anticipate a reply, as you do have a history of not bothering to graciously reply.
The competitive edge is what brings the finance in to be able afford the luxury of organic growth.
