Agreed, an absolute myth.

Because you've sacked managers before who weren't good enough you shouldn't sack another for not being good enough.

Saw MU52 say Arsenal won titles with a load of 1-0s - not sure if that is a common myth or not. The whole idea George Grahams title winning sides were boring is a myth as well (we won one of those on goals scored!) - it wasn't until Wrighty signed and Graham got rid of Limpar and Rocastle and played the likes of Jensen, Hillier and Selley instead.

That it's a good idea to sack a manager with a good record after a few defeats, especially when there has been an injury crisis.

Again, that came after the title wins. The sides that won those two titles had a great mix of defensive aptitude and attacking flair.
For example, the first 4 games in the 88/89 season had 20 goals!!
We had three 1-0 wins in that season, compared to Uniteds 8 in 95/96!

Fair enough, I just went off my faulty memory.

Aye, a lot of people do the same. Even Arsenal fans.
It was a far easier time for defenders (offside rule and backpass) so in general there were far less goals than now, but the two title winning seasons saw some beautiful football played.

Once Wrighty came in Graham seemed to think he would score out of nothing every game and all the other 9 outfield players had to do was defend. Got us a few cups, but was extremely boring.

That there are no easy games.

Famous Anfield atmosphere.

United do better in the second half of the season.

Zaha was giving one to Moyes' daughter.

2-0 is a dangerous lead.

Hafi's stats.

Away goals count double.
