Do I think EtH is doing well this season, no.
Do I think there’s an obvious alternative who can come in and improve us, no.
Is there any point in making such a drastic move before Ratcliffe comes in and gets his team to assess the club, no.
Are we realistically challenging for anything this season that we desperately need that a change might help, no.
We need to be patient and think about things long term. Yes maybe EtH needs to go but wait until Ratcliffe and his team have assessed things and decided what’s best. Don’t make drastic changes just for short term goals. A season out of Europe really isn’t that harmful for us and sacking managers only gives the players more power and belief that they are untouchable. If we decide to sack EtH, first sort out our DoF and work out which players and manager to bring in from that, not the other way round.
Fans are far too impatient these days and want their shiny new toys as soon as things go bad. Look at us the past decade, we keep doing the same thing with no real long term planning and we make the same mistakes. With the Glazers still at the club our best chance of change is with Ratcliffe so wait and let him make decisions rather than sacking a manager now with no idea who his team want to bring in.

Of course he's not doing well this season, and I won't cry if he's sacked.
But I would prefer him to have until the end of the season, and hope when we pull the trigger we would have someone lined up.
I also noticed how the sack him now posters never acknowledge the injuries he's had to deal with.

I personally cannot comprehend why people have 0 memory of the last 10 years?
Do the fans calling for ETH out, remember when they were calling for Moyes out? And LvG out? Jose? OGS? Ragnick? Now ETH? Will for sure the next guy get it right where the names above got it wrong?
Why are fans not remembering the last 10 years when managers have had 2-3 years in charge and it ends up like it is now for ETH when they get sacked.
Why are fans not remembering that we sack someone, and then 2-3 years later, we end up in this exact same position?
Why are fans forgetting such recent history?
Why are fans calling for this cycle to continue?
Why aren't fans now screaming for something else?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I remember the last ten years.
I remember the cycle of managers.
And I am asking (not screaming) for something else.
The solution is simple. The owners sell up and a new broom comes in and reorganises the Club. Root and branch, top to bottom.
Until this happens, (which it wont for some time), are you suggesting that United do nothing and leave Erik to it under the same conditions and the same group of players on ridiculous long contracts and hope things on the pitch... just improve, dramatically, with the risk of things getting much worse. How far are you willing to let the club sink before you blink?

Good post.
