Overall I didn't think Struijk played that well in defence, but doesn't seem to have the big errors in him that Cooper does.

^^^

You dislike Struijk like I dislike Bamford.

Ampadu and Kamara generally comfortable able but flashes of incisive passing from Ipswich, but we were just too good to prevent anything developing.

^^^

These two have been excellent. Rocks.

We absolutely bossed it today.

I was not expecting this at all. But massively glad
we were so in control. Top 4 are so far ahead of
the rest. Going to hinge on January's activity.

As good as this result is, we have to acknowledge that Ipswich got it wrong today. Everyone except McKenna knows how to set up against us at Elland Road. Pack the defence and wait for a mistake.
Meslier's kicking was poor and our passing game was not sharp enough. We got goals from their mistakes rather than our skills. Leif Davis had a nightmare for two of them and the Ipswich defence was at sixes, sevens, eights and nines for Piroe's goal. I don't understand how Rutter can deliver a pass with a snooker player's precision, but can't hit a low, hard shot on target.
Leicester will test Ipswich on Boxing Day and we have to capitalise on this result with a good win at Preston.
Man of the match, though, was Ampadu. what a magnificent player. Every tackle, interception and pass was expertly delivered. He just gives our strikers so much freedom to press our opponents and his back up play for our defence was highly effective. I bet heat map shows. What an engine he has.
Overall, a signal victory for LUFC, if we can back it up against Preston on Boxing Day. Southampton aren't slowing up, and neither should we.

"As good as this result is, we have to acknowledge that Ipswich got it wrong today."

Maybe they got it wrong because of the way we played, the whole team apart from Meslier's kicking got it spot on, Ipswich have used the press to get where they are, we use the press but today with many of ours expecting a harder game, we got it right!..

Credit to the players and credit to Farke for showing it can be done, Ipswich have now lost 3, and for 2 of those we are to blame, so, hopefully long may it continue!..

Thought we were excellent today and totally nullified a team who have been scoring for fun this season.

Keep saying it but when we play with energy and pace we are a much better team and now that Spence is getting up to speed we can only get better.

It will be a tough ask to catch the top two but we're capable of going on another run and have most of the teams around us to play at home.

"Rubbish tier's hold up play" Trying to work out what you meant by that Jonty. It's clearly a typo and I think it was probably something to do with Rodon.

Yes Merry Christmas Jonty and to all Leeds fans on here even Lowfields who I'm sure enjoyed today I watched the game at my Man City supporting Dad's place and he even said to me that we look miles better than last season and thinks we'd be comfortably ahead of at least 5 EPL clubs with this side.

He was very impressed with Summerville who Ipswich just could not deal with but even at 3 nil at ht I was willing for another goal as I was sure Ipswich would score at least a couple in the second half and make us sweat.

They looked completely shell shocked and I reckon they
were deliberately trying to maliciously injure Summerville especially and weaken our threat of catching them which to me is an utterly cowardly approach but thankfully Summerville is made of tough stock.

I think if we can get at least 7 points from our next 3 that will be a great Christmas and set us up nicely along with
Southampton to wipe out that points deficit that currently stands at 7 points with 23 games to go.

So Preston next who worryingly haven't beaten us for ages and have lost their last 2 at home which before I saw the nature of our victory today predicted this would be typical Leeds to thrash Ipswich and lose to Preston but fingers crossed this result has given the whole squad a real confidence boost and swagger to carry on winning.

I'm not cracking open the champagne but today has definitely made me and I imagine thousands of other Leeds fans believe we can make the top 2.

I actually thought Ipswich played quite well in the first half and have to agree with McKenna that 3-0 flattered us.
But in the first half, despite playing well, Ipswich failed to carve out a single chance and I think the guys at Sky flagged up they had two touches in our area. Free scoring Ipswich failed to carve out any real threat, for me an indication of how hard all ten outfield players worked as a unit to defend.
You'd see Dan James or Joel Piroe making defensive tackles all afternoon.
I think this is missed, you see Spence popping up in the opposition penalty area one minute and then Summerville helping him out in defence the next, they all worked so hard for each other.
The whole team were superb with my only small criticism Meslier's kicking which was awful. Twice a simple pass to Gray went into touch. Other long kicks went sailing out for an Ipswich throw. A minor critique in a great afternoon.

The second half there was only one team in it.

Missed the game but just watched the highlights. What a FANTASTIC result - Santa came early this year!!!! We have just got to hang on to Summerville, top priority - he's just too hot to handle - but pleased to read on here that everyone played well.

That's a great response to what will hopefully be seen later as just a minor blip and sets us up nicely for the second half of the season. Plenty to play for still...will Farke bring in any reinforcements, I wonder?

And finally, may I wish all JA606ers wherever you might be from Norway to New Zealand a very merry festive season and best wishes for 2024! We're gonna do it this season - in Farke I trust!

Thank you and good night...

Thanks Jaz, all well in NZ, and all well with LUFC. I wish all our posters a nine pointer Christmas and a Premier New Year. And a few more evening kick-offs for fans in the Antipodes. Take care and hug your parents, siblings, kids and grandkids. And anyone else you can find.

Yes, a merry Christmas to all. Made all the merrier by that great performance.
This is the kind of effort we need, having the most talent is great but spirit and an all for one attitude is what will make this team memorable. 9 points from next three not unthinkable.

Good morning all and a wonderful morning it is too๐ŸŒž.

I’m still a bit shell-shocked tbh; to say I didn’t expect that result seems a little daft now (at least I got the clean sheet right๐Ÿ˜‚).

DF again showed why he’s heading for greatness (‘heading’ - as he says himself, he needs to continue what he’s doing) and a special mention for Piroe who showed such class, poise and balance (erm, almost pirouette-like) for his goal. I guess that’s what he does well and I’m delighted for him and us.

So, here we are then, the season’s half-way point and doing really well so far (better than I expected but won’t go through all that again). 2nd spot definitely available but yes, we really need to start the 2nd-half of the season with a win at Preston (and Ipswich lose again v Leicester - please Santa).

Ennyhoo, a very Merry Christmas to all Leeds fans, everywhere. Let’s hope it’s a good one ๐ŸŽ…๐ŸŽ„.

Best performance by a Leeds side for eons - every department was excellent and made Ipswich look poor.

Merry Christmas one and all!
