Thoughts from today

* Flat track bullies at home (against open sides)
* Poor away from home, especially in early kick offs and after a quick spin
* Not as good as we think we are (3rd/4th at best)
* Too inconsistent for top 2, we cannot go on winning runs and keep dropping points in gritty games like today.
* Poor quality in depth defensively and in midfield
* Still playing square pegs for what must be the 7th manager in a row now?
* Easilly bullied (too lightweight)
* Manager won't adapt/rotate

You can't keep losing like we did today and previously and not see an obvious pattern and weakness and not try to rectify it.

I sincerely hope behind closed doors DF and the owners
have identified key positions that need freshening up
& strengthening with better than what we already have in the squad to make promotion through the play offs a realistic objective.

Before I saw our great display against Ipswich I had a feeling we'd lose to Preston after beating Ipswich but hoped today the feel good factor and impetus from Saturday's thrashing would carry on sufficiently to see us to another fine win today.

However clearly the same 11 can't put 2 great or dominent performances, although within a short period of time, back to back.

This squad is good enough for 3rd or 4th definitely but top 2 even with some investment in January is still a big
ask but that investment I think is needed to at least be
triumphant in a couple of play off semi finals and a Wembley play off final.

Peter Ridsdale's face really did rub salt into today's limp performance and I think Sky enjoyed rubbing it in if you ask me but that aside our new owners need to now not go to those reckless lengths but they do need to show some intent in the January window if they are serious about wanting promotion this season.

From the off there was no urgency, almost an arrogant approach…that’s on Farke.
Gray was getting skinned again and again…should’ve have moved Spence over and put Archie in Midfield or taken him off…again Farke’s failure.
I keep reading about Rutter playing up top, but my eyes tell me he doesn’t and Piroe was so anonymous I didn’t even see him go off.
Need Leicester to stop Ipswich from winning tonight.

I don't think Rutter is up top, not quite sure where he's playing but would really like to see Piroe up top.

Rutter seems to create chances, breeze past midfielders and play eye of the needle through balls to the attackers. He plays like a really good 10, yet Piroe does none of that except score well taken goals which is what Rutter doesn't do. They are playing back to front imo.

Thought Rutter was one of our better players today, if I had to criticize…he does seem to fall over taking a shot at goal.

Missed the 2nd half and just caught up watching it.
Wish I hadn't.
Another very poor away performance, DF needs to learn to adapt and change formations when struggling.

We're going from highs to lows too often and looking more and more likely that it will be plays offs at best.

posted on 26/12/23

Rutter had a pretty decent game I thought and he reminds me of a David Ginola type player that can destroy an opposition with sleeky skills like Maradona and precise through balls to the striker which he is not but he does give us a dangerous threat that other sides don't have but it seems to be at the expense of Piroe playing in a more forward position so maybe a front three of Rutter and James iether side of Summerville and bring Piroe on for one of the front 3 and play Piroe up top with 2 of Rutter, Summerville and James iether side.

We play in form West Brom in 3 days 40 mins. They're probably a side we'll do well against as they'll have a go at us. Surely DF will switch it up a little bit.

Breathe.

We’re ok. It’s a defeat. Let’s deal with it.

How do you go from that performance on Saturday to that shhhttt.

Those points dropped vs Sheff Wed / Rotherham / Stoke and Coventry fekked us.

That away kit. It makes us look and play like a bunch of marshmallows. Imagine if you were on the pitch dressed up with your mates for drag night. This is Clogger FC in the championship, not Priscilla of the Desert. Get rid, win games and hey presto, we will be promoted.

I like the yellow and white that Leicester are wearing.

Yes, that away kit is awful

Next time they wear that kit they did today they should arrive in a sports car like from the The Pink Panther cartoon series, wearing the driving helmets the kid in the series wears and play that theme tune too......He's in the pink - the pink panther
The rinky-dink panther,
and it's as plain as your nose,
that he's the one and only, truly original,
Panther-pink (panther) from head to toes !

I’m surprised they didn’t play that on the Tannow as the teams came out, Macca.

First half I thought the ref let Preston players get away with loads of really heavy challenges on Summerville.

There was the one where he did a somersault which I thought deserved a yellow for their player just for the strength he must have hit Cry with.

I know it's a contact sport, but that tackle could have resulted in Cry breaking his neck.

Yes Hearty, it might have got them going a lot more than how limply they started today and most of the match and now I can't get that tune out of my head....I loved that show when I was a kid!

The first suit I ever bought was pink, with wide flairs and brown platform boots. We had eleven players wearing that suit today. Fashion changes, bad taste is permanent.

Excellent, sounds groovy man, a true inspiration to Austin Powers there Hearty although I remember my parents dressing me in a purple velvet suit when I was about 5 like a young Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen in the making.

That was my first choice, Macca, but your Mum got in before me. I bet you thank her for that now, though.

Yes it influenced my future fashion decisions which were a cross between Adam Ant and Tucker from Grange Hill

When I was little more than a toddler, I was a page boy at a family wedding. I was dressed in crimson red velvet trousers and a white shirt. I loved those trousers and often wish I had them now (erm, in a lightly bigger size though🤣).

You'll be amazed what you can find on Ebay Lightly so you should do some digging and wear them on Leeds matchdays as a lucky omen maybe and if we get to the Wembley play off final you in your Crimson velvet me in my purple velvet and Hearty in his pink suit should arrange a nostalgic meet up... What a sight that would be 😂
