Eriksen and Mainoo may work as Eriksen can't get up and down so he'll have to be a bit deeper. It may help Bruno too having someone in midfield who can pick a pass.

*I'm not going to worry too much about him defensively as I'm more concerned about being entertained.

It’s a team game and midfields only work as a unit. If our midfield 5 are tight and compact and work hard together then everyone will be fine.

Plus Mainoo & Eriksen might offer better control of possession as a pair and might allow Bruno to play closer to Hojlund where he’s less involved deeper and can get into better attacking positions.

Will get walked through that midfield, but might actually manage to keep possession and build attacks when we do have the ball. Eriksen will need to come off after half time though.

Why do people think this is any worse than what we've been doing for the past 3 months? McTominay hasn't exactly been proving any 'steel' in that midfield, since he hasn't actually been playing there.
