We are in a much better position than 12 months ago, with regard to Manager, owners, and players.
The replacement of Orta is proving to be the correct decision and I foresee a bright future for our club, something I couldn't say last year.
Highlandwhite will never be forgotten on this board, and I for one am very grateful to Earl for carrying on his legacy.
May I take this opportunity to wish all Leeds fans a very happy New Year.

Hepworth, I read that as we aren't and I nearly spit out my coffee.
I agree with your and jontys assessment on things as they are.
Our future is indeed bright if we can stay healthy and maybe rotate a little more autos aren't out of the question.
In Farke I trust and I echo the sentiment on our lost friend. Happy new year all.
Good assessment.
I'm also very happy with 49ers, Hammond,
Steinsson, and of course Farke. Good bloke.
Active and productive January and I think
we can do some real damage. Here's hoping.
Teams will never have it as easy in the champ or staying up in prem this year.
Absolutely desperate stuff, with team been totally skint.
Farke gets away with the start, because of the contract situation, did well.
But for ipswich, who are miles inferior to us, to be 8 points ahead, is a disgrace.
Man mangement been really poor last month.
Like Farke, like the way we play, like how he conducts himself. Desperate for him to do well.
But decisions have cost us plenty
Playing Gray at right back
Cost us points at
Rotherham and Preston
Not having a designated penalty taker
Stoke
Too late subs and just chucking a load of attackers on, with no plan.
Sunderland and Coventry.
Hepworth sums it all up perfectly and I personally am just going to enjoy this ride from now till the end of the season and appreciate actually winning a load of games, sure we'll lose a few but we're not going to be far off either the top 2 or making it through the dreaded play offs.
I look at Burnley and Shef Utd who achieved a fairly easy ride to Promotion last season and their new year prospects look extremely bleak and depressing, so no guarantees in life obviously but overall we're definitely in good shape atm and here's to a happy and healthy future for all of us.
Nailed on playoffs (Probably need the home leg first)
Farke done well early on with all the transfer farce, but par for the course now. We have a team of full internationals with a handful of 20 mil + players so should be top end of the league.
Fans don't seem fully behind Farke, fans seem contempt with him but certainly not head over heels for the guy, then again, fans haven't liked anyone that much since Bielsa. Lack of rotation, square pegs, over reliance on Gray, late subs are what the fans aren't too happy with.
Need recruitment in January as we CLEARLY have issues in regards to getting top 2. We're dropping points and sit 4th for a reason.
Need to stop with the square pegs in round holes. Been doing that since the Neil Redfearn days, just go and sign a bloody left back and a number 10.
Still HALF of the season to go. If we score 10/12 points than Ipswich and Southampton do in the second round of games, we're up ๐
Agree totally Shaun. LB is a must. Also adding
a proper 10 and a goal scorer are a must.
We know Maresca's going to have a pipeline to
City. Not sure how they stand on loan quota,
but, would not be surprised to see them land Bobb.
Excellent article and comments that followed sums up the lows and highs we have become accustomed to.
Farke has steadied a sinking ship and the whole club is in a good place mainly thanks to him.
However he needs to learn to adapt when required and the timing and selection of substitutions is at best questionable. Be a miracle to get autos but should certainly comfortably make the lottery play offs.
As for the match threads all I've done is tried to continue Highlands legacy as best i can. The success or failure of it is down to all the fellow posters who i must say have been amazing.

Add your own twist to it, make it your own.
But for ipswich, who are miles inferior to us, to be 8 points ahead, is a disgrace.
Bit harsh! Agree with most of the other points. 2 points per game is the benchmark in this league and we are not far off. Ipswich have been phenomenal, they’ve taken 14 points more than us disregarding the head to head…could be that we are every other teams cup final.
Where we are at is probably the best starting outfield 10, fully fit in the league, Spence, Rodon, Struijk, Byram, Ampadu, Kamara, Summerville, Piroe, James and Rutter. Add to those a couple of others Gray and Gnonto.
Beyond that I struggle to see a starter, a player from the bench who can excite or change a game or the strength in depth.
Ask this question again Jonty as the transfer window closes the next month will have a major impact on our season.
Good summary Jonty. Thanks, Earl, for the threads that from the bottom of my heart, from the bottom of the planet.
We are clutching at straws if we believe the transfer window will change our outlook. The defeats against Birmingham, Stoke, Sunderland and PNE expose a weakness we have had for years. We can not kill off teams who play a low block against us.
Additionally, we are playing with a poor keeper, in my view, for the next three games. We can not claim we have a lot of injuries or that we don’t get chances.
I said earlier that we are not using the strength of the squad as a whole and the wear and tear is beginning to show. Farke is making mistakes at critical times. The result is passages of pretty but unproductive football. When it comes together it looks great, but when it doesn’t we lose direction pretty quickly. Farke’s plan B, to play all our strikers at once when we need a goal, is like under 12 football. What we need to see is Rutter staying on his feet when he takes a shot, Ampadu and Kamara to add to our goals tally, Spence to play at right back, Piroe to play in position, Meslier to stop more shots.
In short, there is a lot to get right, ahead of bringing in new players. Managing Leeds is different to managing anyone else in this league, we all know this. PNE had their best crowd in 50 years when we came to town last week. We fill every ground and teams know we can, at any moment, get hit by a sucker punch.
Expectations are high and every game feels like a cup final. Players can’t be expected to perform with that kind of pressure all the time. If Farke is the manager he claims to be, the Hawthorns is a great place to start showing it.
We might need a CB if Spurs keep losing CB's. They're playing 4 full backs in a back 4 tonight. Hopefully they sign some in Jan and leave Rodon alone. If they don't call him back, we'll surely be able to get him in the summer for a good price.

Spurs will buy a CB before bringing Rodon back if they have top 4 aspirations…not knocking Rodon, and hope we do sign him permanently.
Morning all๐.
So, where are we at? I guess where we’d expect to be after the disastrous summer. DF has worked miracles in the relatively short time he’s been with us and I think we’ll have a good 2nd-half to the season. I’m still thinking play-offs rather than autos but let’s see where we are come end of January.
Great summary of the calendar year btw Jonty and yep, very well done Earl on doing a sterling job with the MDTs๐
We gave everyone a months start. We can do better for sure and I think the Ipswich bubble has been pricked. Southampton are now the team to watch.
Can we put a run together? Let’s hope so.
