He's like a new signing. He's first choice CF now with Rutter at 10. Id have like to seen him move on in Jan and go for someone like the talented lad at Plymouth (Whittaker) potential star in him, but with Bamford scoring 2 in 2, we won't be bolstering our attack in Jan. He had a mixed display but the goal was phenomenonal

Can't see us signing anyone in Jan now. Shack, Ayling and Gray for RB with Firpo and Byram LB. Rutter solves 10 issue and Bamford is the new CF

He leads the line better than anyone else at the club, you saw it in his goal against brum where he directed the pass to James instead of to himself as he knew James could get a cross to him better.

Honestly, some people have just decided that they don't like him so will never give him credit no matter what, it will, at best, be like this, where people won't say he did well, they will look for things to pick apart.

If Piroe had played exactly the same as Bamford, and I mean literally a skim swap where you put Piroe in the game he makes the exact same runs and gives the exact same instructions to lead the line then a thread gets made saying how awesome he is and how he is amazing at everything.

But because its Paddy people can't do that

Think we all enjoyed that goal, that is if you don't include TheDonn, Lowfield and Batty.

Piroe is a complete waste of money, Bamford has to start with Rutter.

His redemption will only be complete when Batty says he's played well.....

You'll be saying Leeds' redemption will only be complete when Lowlife says we've played well next, ain't going to happen.

Lowfield or Thedonn though that is much more likely

If we get promoted through the play offs there are some around us that'll say it wasn't good enough!..

And as long as we can keep our frontline this window all we'll need to worry about is one or two at the back!..

But I think Farke knows that and I think the 49ers have a better plan than any before them!..

Er, I mean from Ridsdale onwards!..

There's no getting away from the fact that the goal Patrick scored to day, is fundamentally the reason we watch and love football - we dream of seeing moments like that.

My bias aside, that was one of the best goals I've
seen in a while. I bet I'm not alone in saying I've
watched it over and over. Sublime. When he's on
he has one of the sweetest left feet in football.

Not going to be negative about him at all. He was
a massive part of today's win. And there aren't many
goalkeepers who would've got anywhere near that
shot. It was brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.

I agree with Shaun, if he can keep this form up
he is a new signing. I'll hold my hand up, many have
said he just needs his confidence restoring. I didn't
believe it. I'm starting to think this is that turning
point that Stoop for one has said many times.

I know this is a Bamford thread but, damn, Ethan
Ampadu is phenomenal. Captain in waiting. Gruev
is starting to look like a player who can help a lot.

And special mention for Archie. Good God he's not
of this planet. The lad has such a bright future.

All in all, Bamford was and has been very good.
The goal though, that was other wordly.

Piroe is a complete waste of money who has scored 9 goals in about 20 games? That's a bit harsh, isn't it? Did he miss any penalties or any absolute sitters that cost us a lot of Premier League points? No. Has he been played in his favoured position? No.
Maybe he doesn't have that kind of finish in his locker, but he does know where the net is.

Where is his favoured position 🤷🏻‍♂️

It certainly isnt up on his own

We all hope that Bamford is returning to the form that we know he is capable of and equally important he stays fit for the rest of the season.

On a separate note I've honestly no issues with our own 2 resident Victor Meldrews and welcome all positive and negative input where justified but their absences when we win are very noticeable.

Well done Batty! Me too, I'd said the same, that Bamford was all washed up, too many sitters fluffed, penalties missed. I'm delighted to be proved wrong (again)...and yes, I can't get enough of that amazing strike today either - what a goal!

If Bamford's firing again, then we have some very interesting possible attacking combinations. Bamford and Piroe are two very different strikers. Both are good intelligent players and I disagree totally that Piroe's a dud.

Otherwise, no banana skin cup upset today for once - that feels gooooooood!

Too right. Piroes not a dud, he's plan b.
Having Bamford fit and in form just makes us much better.

Morning all🌞

For me it’s simple, if Bamford scores then he plays … yep, chicken and egg … however, he’s earned his place now in the next couple of starting line ups. Let’s see how he goes👍.

posted on 8/1/24

Can someone explain the true meaning off "sitters," because I can't work it out!..

If a player tries to hit the target like they're meant to, there is more often than not a keeper, a player or more trying to stop him, and the time to hit the ball is so small it takes a lot of doing trying to hit every goal people here scream for!..

I'd love to see some here in the park on a Sunday trying their skills, just to see how many shots they get and how lucky they are as far as scoring goes!..

Players are paid to score goals, but at the same time some are paid to stop them, and the time needed for that perfect shot is so limited sometimes its easier just to hit the fecker and hope for the best!..

Unless sitters mean an open net than maybe I'd understand what it means!..

Ampadu was captain for that match, but handed the armband to Ayling when he came on.

I couldn't understand why he would have to surrender the armband when he was obviously doing a great job. Odd.

You poor s—ds…

Bamford takes a punt, swings his leg and connects for a change…the ball ends up in the corner of the net, great goal…and the fans think it’s their birthday and Xmas come home together!

What it tells you really is how much the fans have been starved of a striker who can score goals consistently and occasionally shoot spectacularly…and suddenly Bamford more famous for missing goals and prone to injuries is an icon of football!…

As the adverts on tv proclaim when mentioning a brand of food or merchandise….other brands are available…
In Bamford’s case other strikers are available!

If you haven’t seen this angle of Bamfords goal …. It’s even MORE of an OMG, honestly. The bend and swerve you don’t see from the other angles. He caught that right on the button
