Good for Spence and us if Drag coming.
Saw the special on Sky about it this morning and they've given some stats:
Games (starts in brackets):
VDV - 11(11)
Romero - 15(15)
Davies - 14(10)
Emerson - 15(7)
Drag - 19(19)
Interceptions / Tackles / Duel success (%):
VDV - 4 / 18 / 61.3%
Romero - 17 / 32 / 70.5%
Davies - 9 / 19 / 67.4 %
Emerson - 14 / 24 / 57.7%
Drag - 21 / 16 / 67.2%
Ranks him pretty well next to our defenders. Way more interceptions than any of ours.
Leeds to Genoa seems like a nice lifestyle upgrade.... well played Djed
Just want this CB deal done..... Incase the club haven't realized, there is a sense of urgency !!
I’ve never seen Dragusin play but from everything I’ve read and clips I’ve watched he seems to fit the profile of player we’ve been signing very well in terms of both his physical and in-game attributes, and his personality which we know is a big deal for Ange. €25m + €5m bonuses is good business, especially as he is 21, and our track record of signings the last two years has been superb so I have faith that he will also do well.
If we can send Spence the other way as a deal sweetener then that’s smart for us too; I think there’s a talented player there who has lost his way, was thrown under the bus by that fraud Conte the day Spence arrived at the club. But, living and playing in a foreign country is a great opportunity for personal growth which it sounds like he needs, personally I’m not giving up on this lad just yet, see how he gets on first and what the situation is when he gets back in the summer.
If we can also offload Dier to Bayern and recoup €5m of the Dragusin outlay and get the useless fack off our wages then that’s superb business.
Dragusin and Werner are both very astute dealings IMO - a quality prospect in an area of need at CB and a low risk high reward punt to give us depth in attack (Werner brought in because his pace and pressing facilitate the system, not to bang in 15 goals, he’ll probably play off the left til Son is back). Importantly these deals could be done by Jan 10th, which is the decisive action we needed. Can (hopefully) relax a bit then and view any other additions as a bonus.

Totally agree.
We seem to be doing things pretty well at the moment.
I can understand fans impatience to get deals done yesterday, or last summer, but this is a building process which will take a bit of time.
In a way its been a bit lucky we have had so many defensive injuries. May be the desire to get a new CB would have been shelved if all were fit, and caught us out later in the season.
What I think is exciting is that with these signings (yes, i am counting my chickens!) the squad will just need may be 2 or 3 upgrades in the summer.
Not a major overhaul and half a dozen deals needed, starting the season short in some key areas. We will be in the rare position of adding a bit of icing and maybe a cherry to the cake.
Backup LB (if Sess doesnt show his worth)
Replace Hojbjerg
New attacker - could be Werner! although I'd prefer Olise
My worry is that there is something in the training, the intensity at which we play or the recovery runs required by the system that is causing all these injuries (many of them hamstrings) and that we are all assuming the recent situation has been a freak, as it’ll all be ok when we get everyone back, when in actual fact we will routinely have multiple key players missing under Ange. This situation will only be compounded by getting back into Europe.
It’s great we now have a proper system and philosophy in place with our transfers. Paratici’s eye for a player is unbelievable as well.
I said it last week and will say it again - this is the most relaxed I’ve been about us in a transfer window in a decade. Dragusin and Werner, and then we can put our feet up knowing we have got the essential business done - if a last minute Levy bargain materialises and Ange is happy then great, if not then great we got our business done in a timely manner.
This has always been one of my biggest issues with Levy, I would like to be able to stop moaning about it and it finally looks like I can

Likewise makes good business sense - desperately need a new CB and Werner up front on a loan sounds good. Was really impressed with him when he signed for Chavz but soon tailed off after 10-15 games.

He had the same issues at Celtic. Think Bielsa for Leeds. High intensity football equals injuries. Ange said recently the players get used to it lol.
Ange does protect players like subbing off Son, Madders Richy and Sarr early in games routinely.
But it is a worry. To my mind only Porro and Kulu have played pretty much every prem and FA cup game except for Kulu's suspension for one match. Vic too but he don't count.

They got no full backs and semi finals coming up lol
Yeah, Trent, Robertson, Tsmikas all out, Salah away. They should still have enough to muddle through, and keep pace at the top of the league, but it shows that with 18 games remaining nobody is running away with anything and every club is having its bumps in the road. Hopefully we’ve more or less had ours.

13/4 Newcastle (A)
20/4 City (H)
27/4 Arsenal (H)
4/5 Liverpool (A)
Think how we go through these fixtures will ultimately decide our season. Or so I hope!
All being well, after the Man Utd (a) Brentford(h) Everton(a) Brighton(h) games we should have everyone back from internationals, suspensions and injury.
Hopefully. after adding the 2 new signings, being able to put out a bench of Werner, Sarr, Dragusin, Solomon, Johnson, Emerson, Davies....is a world apart from where we have been at times this season.
We're looking seriously good i think, if we can keep key players fit most of the time.
It is such a shame we have such a tough FA Cup draw when we're missing so many players because i felt that we really could be in a very strong position in that cup when all the other big/form teams have europe to contend with. We might still make it through but its a tough one.

Not sure i agree. The bread and butter games are the more important ones for me. May be NUFC (a) because they could catch us (although we have a 10 point lead). I would also put Utd in that bracket too as we need to keep the gap to them as wide as possible. Both must not lose.
I am not sure we are competing with City & LFC quite yet. Arsenal more so because they are faltering and it would be lovely to resume normal service and end above them.
What impressed me in the season so far, and particularly up to the Chelsea implosion, was that we did generally get the results we deserved. The games we expected to win, we won. Keep that up, beat the likes of Brentford, Palace, Wolves, Forest, Luton, Burnley, Sheff Utd, Fulham and we're already in the mid 60s for points. Get some results out of Utd, City, Arsenal(h), Liverpool(a), WHU(a), BHA(h), NUFC(a), Chelsea(a), Villa(a), Everton(a) and we're in the mid 70s, but the bulk of the points are attainable from the games we should almost expect to win, the bread and butter ones, the bulk of which are at home

Agreed. We are due a break from injuries.

We're just lucky that we dont have any big games coming up while our players are injured and on international duty
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Utd away on Sunday? City in the cup? In the league from mid April until May we need to be at our strongest.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
13/4 Newcastle (A)
20/4 City (H)

EXCL: Radu Dragusin saga has one more twist — Bayern have now sent formal bid to Genoa to hijack the deal!
Proposal slightly higher than Tottenham one, NO players included.
⚪️ Understand Spurs remain confident as previously agreed on personal terms.
It’s up to Dragusin.
