My wife mis-heard the chorus of Keane's 'Crystal Ball' as 'Oh, Chris de Burgh, Chris de Burgh...' and I let her think the song was written as an ode to him.

I was about fourteen when the Cribs’ Men’s Needs came out, the chorus of which includes:

Because a man's needs, man's needs
Are found on greed, are found on greed

and is repeated several times throughout the song.

Being a keen boxer, I thought the song went:

Because a man needs, man's needs
Apollo Creed, Apollo Creed

and was convinced of this for several months.

Having been enlightened by my older brother who readily showed me the lyrics booklet that came with a special edition of the album, I stand resolute in my opinion that the second statement is not untrue - all men do, in fact, need: Apollo Creed

Used to work with someone who thought Noel Gallagher was singing "and so Silicon Way" in Don't Look Back in Anger.

In the below song. I always think it is H34 instead of H24

Why would Keane do an ode to Chris de Burgh just for writing songs?

That's his job!

Took one of my mates to a Tottenham game once - his first game. Spurs famously chant “Y*d Army” - second half this guy joins in chanting “You know me”

I still take the pizz over a decade later

Macy Gray - I Try

I try to say goodbye but I choke
Try to walk away but I stumble
Though I try to hide it, it's clear
I wear goggles when you are not near

It must have been 10 years before I realised her "world crumbles" and that she was never wearing goggles

Pretty impressive to still get "Albuquerque" right in a misheard line though!

This didn't occur to her, and I wasn't going to disabuse her of this misunderstanding.

When they were really saying:

Mush-a ring, dum-a doo-dam-a-da
Whack for my daddy-o
Whack for my daddy-o

Which is much more sensible.

"I don't think you're ready for this JERRY" (rather than jelly) - from Bootylicious by Destiny's Child.

For I long time, I genuinely thought that Beyonce and pals were trying to aggressively woo a man named Jerry.
