In my playing days I wanted to play like Robbo. I never had the stamina he had despite being mega fit.

Lucky enough to see him score at Wembley for us and England.

Feels like you’ve just signed him? It was 43 years ago son ffs. 345 appearances for Utd in 13 years, averaging 26 games a season. Good player but injury prone and a massive piisss artist by all accounts.

Proper captain, not like this joker Bruno

He was the first footballer I worshipped, aged about 7.

At the time I used to get the 'Match' magazine, in which Robson had a column. I knew of the concept of collecting autographs but didn't fully understand it, and so I'd cut out Robson's signature reproduced at the bottom of every column, and I collected this slivers of paper in some little tin.

Very good but not "great".

It's ALL relative of course, but personally, as a fan decades before and after his career, I'd struggle to put him in a list of the most useful, productive and contributive 22 players the club had in that 55 year period.

He might just make it, I've never really sat down and tried to work out such a list. So it's only a 'feeling' at this stage.

Just list the 22 players who DO make your list so we can get some idea of how much you are havent been paying attention.

Learn to read "... I've never really sat down and tried to work out such a list. So it's only a 'feeling' at this stage ..."

and then learn to spell = haven't.
