Even if you are there, you will be confused and too half enabriated, apologies, to realise what is happening

People saying they’d go back to previous times for TV and music that you can enjoy now are strange to me.

Seeing them perform them I guess.
Wouldn't mind seeing the Beatles in the carvern club.

Bit different when you're experiencing them for the first time though, no?

I still remember the first time watching Jurassic Park at the cinema. You can't replicate that with repeat viewings on TV.

I might pop back and visit a chap called Thomas Midgley. He lead on the creation of leaded gasoline and then when that was done, he followed up by creating CFCs. He has been referred to as a one-man environmental disaster.

I'd sit him down, give him some weed and pizza. Convince him that work isn't really for him and he'd be much better off getting stoned and joining the circus.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ironically Thatcher was instrumental in getting CFCs restricted/banned as she understood it due to having a chemistry degree, and due to the clout she had with the USA was able to get legislative buy in from other countries

Being serious though, if i could go back and not interfere with time itself. I'd love to be able to see Henry VIII.. see what he was like.. and how he acted

You can still get them on Sky. I had a few days off work with flu a while back and watched a load of them. Loved the programme.

Swinging 60s as an adult might be a good time? Women's lib, nae bras, mini skirts, relaxed inhibitions on the pill affordable housing. Still the shat cars and white dug scheite right enough.

Why would anyone go back in time?

Go into the future, surely.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We know humans have a rich and varied past. We don't know that about the future. You might go forward a mere 30 or 40 years and find yourself wandering around a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

Yes but history is pretty well documented. I’d rather find out about the unknown.

See what you mean, but knowing about something and experiencing it might be very different things. Or you could go back to a time that isn't very well understood, like the Dark Ages or the building of Stonehenge.

It would be facking grim though. The people would be rancid - infested, stinking, no teeth, uneducated, there would be human sheite everywhere, vermin, infectious disease, no electricity, minimal warmth, food that would seem inedible to us, no clean water, no transport. Fack that.

Honestly, I'd like to do 1985 to about 1995 all over again and not change a thing.
Women, drink, drugs, boxing and playing football. Lads holidays. Saw some of the biggest bands on the planet.
I had to cut the date off at 95 because I met my ex wife in 96 and all the fun stopped, took me twenty years to realise.

I’d go back to the 1950s and buy a shiiiit load of Fender and Gibson guitars.

We did all the laundry and then watched TV

We won't see the likes of those times again
