Whether that's the club trying to cover for him though and dampen a potential media storm who knows.

Maybe he has been hungover. Maybe not. Maybe he's unwell from lack of sleep. Maybe not. Or maybe he's actually got flu and it's a coincidence he was also out in a club which is possible. Again we don't know.
I want to know why a player who was easily our best player last season looks like he's got the weight of the world on his shoulders this year. Something has happened to this lad that we aren't aware of.
Nicky Butt knows more than he's letting on too. He certainly implied at that speaking event he did not so long ago that Rashford might be going through something. He quickly changed the conversation though as he didn't want to talk about it.
It's a real mystery to why the player who saved Eriks job last season is playing this badly the following one. I don't get it either. I don't buy that he isn't bothered as he's a bleeding a United fan. It's more than just a job when you're a fan.

Tbf it’s only MEN who seem to be reporting that and they’re not the best. The Athletic have said that Rashford himself reported he was too ill to train. The Athletic have also stated that Rashford’s representatives told the club he was only out on the Wednesday and only went out for a meal which we now know to be untrue. Like you say we don’t know much but we do know that his manager said it was unacceptable when Rashford was last seen out at a nightclub hours after our 3-0 defeat to City.

Likewise Rashford knows he's been photographed. It's literally impossible to avoid and there's even a video of him being ushered out with camera phones in sight filming him.
So he's not thought 'i will call in sick and hope they don't realise' either has he? He knows that's simply not going to wash.
Who knows the full story.
If Mbappe leaves PSG and if they still “apparently” want Rashford we should snap their hand off.
He’s 26 now, I doubt he’s getting any better and it’s not the 1st time he’s been caught out late at night this season.

He'll probably re-appear with a new haircut.
Rashford never going to be as good as he should. I think even if he was playing at City he wouldn't be fulfilling his full potential, in the same way Sterling didn't, hence Pep eventually getting rid.
