Think the reason they hold it in England is they think it would not sell out in Oz.
It's a bit of a joke really and I feel it does not reflect the standards in each league as we win it too often as it is weighted in our favour being here at the start of a season.
I think there will an issue with when it could be played in Aus. If it's played before superleague starts, Manly will be only just getting into pre-season proper, If it's played at the normal time being week 2 or 3 of superleague it would hamper Leeds due to not being able to travel early enough to get aclimatised properly.
Personally I think it should be played at the end of the season rather than the start.
I don't think it will be played in OZ this time around, to short of notice with plans already in place for Leeds I'd say.
As for the comment of getting a crowd of 80,000 at ANZ stadium (what a load of rubbish) Manly don't draw crowds and there supporters don't travel.
50,000 at Suncorp (Brisbane) yes, that mob will go and watch anything.

We've had more than our share of this event in our country in recent years so fairs-fair. It doesn't really matter to me as i'm shouting for the Eagles anyway.
Northern, I fully understand why you would wanting Manly to win............for the same reason I want Leeds to win, the difference is, I don't wish to see the stretcher on the field...lol
Stretcher no! shovel yes to dig the grave for the whinos.

I read it is to be played in England again.......which makes sense really, when you consider it is played during or about the 4th round of the S/L competition and only trials happening in OZ, it would be to much to expect say Leeds to play on the 9th, fly to Australia for a match on the 16th and be back for the 23rd.
The only other time is directly after the Grand-Finals, but that interferes with the national team selections and medical/fitness tests then......there seems to be no real solution to the WCC thats suits all parties.
Cheers..
