Jonty, Lovely lass was Betty couldnt defend though,

Dont think Ampadu has been under a lot if pressure when hes been playing at cb. He's been excellent as always but i do wonder how hed cope against a better side at cb. Hopefully okay.

My motm were either Rodon or Archie. Gruev was good kind of a Batty like midfielder.

Agree on Kamara he's lost his swagger a bit. Would like to see Archie there for a few games and Roberts at RB.

All the signings make sense at the moment which is good to see. Not like last season under Orta.

Thought Gruev in front of the back line looked very solid.

Rodon and Ampadu were imperious and Archie made tackle of the match early in first half.

Firpo looks like he's found his level going forward but still looks very vulnerable when defending - the pull back on the edge of the box had me concerned.

Hoping our conversion per chance rate improves as last 15 minutes was nervy watching at 1-0.

All in all though, a good all round showing.

(Wonder what's going through Joel's mind at the moment?)

I only saw highlights but our supiority was obvious and still if not for a fine save by meslier we could have lost two points.
Summerville trying to chip the goaler was ridiculous. Just round him and put it in
That miss puts pressure on and had him forcing shots instead of squaring the ball to better placed players.
Still a wins a win but man we make it harder than it needs to be.

Are you saying 8 because 3 played really poor? If so which 3?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Its a joke, after some of the comments on the matchday thread yesterday during first half.

Mind boggling

^^^

Go back and watch the game again. Cree wasn't his
usual Cree self. He's still better than anyone in this
division. But, off it last night, by his standards.

Gnonto was sloppy first half. But, he hasn't started
many games. Looked rusty and a step behind his team mates. Second half different story.

And I'm sorry for bringing this up, Bamford was non-existent. He didn't do much of anything. Hardly heard
his name mentioned all game.

Most people, plus the press pundits saw this. A few didn't. It's just opinions. But, those were the three
called out leading up to half time. Rightly.

And I agree that second half Kamara was rightly pulled.
Another one who was up to the rest of the team's standards.

I do remeber a few getting bent out of shape because
we still dominated despite those four. Of course we
did. We're top 4 in this division. And those 4 teams are miles better than anyone else. Bristol City were frankly
sh ! te. They didn't have a clue. If we hadn't dominated
we would rightly be worrying.

Someone on here said that we’d get 100 points this season. Given we are going at 2 points a game who’s to bed against it.

Roberts in at right back and Gray into midfield could be the key to knitting the team together. A few killer passes from Archie could be what we are missing. Front men still need to put it in the net of course but that can be a problem as we know. maybe we just need a few more Archie's on the park ?

I thought it was an excellent all round team performance.
Rodon was brilliant as usual, and how Archie could develop is frightening, he does remind me of Eddie when he goes on a run up the wing.

Who you dropping for that to happen though?

Farke is going to have some tough decisions to make as to who plays and where.
Great problem to have. James coming back will be another.
Hate Friday games but when you win it makes for a great weekend of watching football. Come on Preston.

Batty, puzzled by your comment about hardly hearing Bamford's name all game, do you rate a player based on how many times a commentator mentions them through 90 minutes or your own observations.

Incidentally, where are you going for your press punditry, Graham Smyth, local journo rated both Summerville and Bamford as 8/10 (Greuv 8/10 and Martin 4/10 spot on I think).

I thought Bamford was good. Led the line well, tested the keeper with a decent chance, involved in some nice link up play and the ball across for the Rutter chance

Not sure Roberts starts or that Gray displaces Greuv if he does. I don't think Farke is one for making wholesale changes.

On the subject of changes, I believe the rule is that a player needs to have played in a cup to be cup tied. CR, was an unused sub against Spurs, I believe he is eligible for the Plymouth replay. Anyone know?

8 out of 10 for Paddy - seems a bit generous.

Yes he holds the ball up well, but his physicality and killer instinct weren't really on show last night. The pull back pass to Rutter was top draw though.

Roberts cannot play in the replay as he was not a Leeds player for the initial match (Rule 103). He can play in the next round if we get through.

Thought summerville was dangerous. Harries them and won the ball high on a few occasions. Finishing let him down a bit but was top draw. Would like to see Gray in midfield for Kamara. Kamara has been fine but just feel Gray would give us a bit more of a cutting edge. Gray has shown he is physically up for playing in the middle of the park.

A lot of what he does goes unnoticed but he is a critical cog in the wheel as he is movement is excellent and creates space for the likes of Cree and Willie.

The ratings do seem a little high from what I saw. I wouldn't give Summerville an 8. He played well but surely he should have walked around the keeper to score and square the ball a couple of times for better positioned players. A solid 7 for both maybe.

I think we have enough depth to give Archie a rest.

I think if Roberts starts then Gray will be on the bench until Kamara runs out of steam. Gruev is a DM. Archie won’t play there.

As long as Ampadu plays CB then Gruev has to play.

The more I see of Ampadu at CB the more I like him. He reads the game very well and is so calm when we need calm heads. We’ve not let many goals in with him and Rodon at the back.

Is it a coincidence we have started to wing games now Paddy is starting 😉
