Cant wait for this season to be over
I honestly think this might be Chelsea for years now, aimlessly wandering in mid table positions. You just have no sense of direction, no discernible pattern and no philosophy.
FFP is clearly causing an issue, it’s the only explanation for not signing a striker in Jan and come the summer you will be needing to move players on, especially if there is no euro footy of any description - which is looking increasingly likely.
There is no problem. You’re just where you always were, before RA showed up
The problem are your owners and players, first and foremost.
And the shiiiiiit players.
best two Cbs are injured, get Fofana and Colwill fit and playing and I think that will make a huge difference, too much chopping and changing the back 4 (from a nuetral)
Badiashile & Disasi are crap and Silva unfortunately is passed his best
As for Poch, but once has heart ever looked in it. The passion he had at Spurs was never present at PSG or Chelsea.
He needs the Argentina job or a job that truly motivates him again

I do expect us at some point within the next year to start resembling something to a cohesive team that isn't completely toothless against a low block. Pochettino's done pretty well in this regard actually, statistically speaking we're a good striker away from being top 4 as bonkers as that sounds.
I think what's more likely is a sustainable period, like 5-6 years, of being one of those 4th-8th teams. Being Spurs basically

It’s been a regular feature for over 30 years now.
Get the fool out. How we went from Tuchel to Potter to this fraud under these owners is ridiculous.
Agree with Devil. There's definitely been an improvement since last season so I think Poch should have some credit. Im not sure theres another obvious manager out there that would be better, under the circumstances of a large squad of youngsters.
I don't actually think we're miles away from being top4 competitive again, although we are way off City, Liverpool and arsenal right now. We do seem very immature though...too many needless yellows from kicking the ball away/dissent/diving...and today giving away needless fouls in dangerous positions, mostly Caicedo but also Gusto for their pen.
We were poor today but also a tad unlucky...two deflected goals conceded, and I really thought we ought to have at least one penalty. The Gallgher one was stonewall imo, and two half shouts with Enzo and Jackson

Let’s see, to me you look set up to develop players and then ship them on - like a Prem version of Benfica. The problem of course being that a lot of the other teams in the Prem will be buying those players and being one up on you.
The financial mess you have been lumbered with is staggering, I am genuinely surprised there haven’t been demonstrations against Boehly and Clearlake yet - another season next year like this one though and there absolutely will be
Since last January it appeared to me as if the plan was being a sort of high end version of Leipzig. Get them in young, ideally keep them but if a Real/Barcelona came in it's not the end of the world kind of deal. Cos an out & out buy low/sell high strategy (like Benfica) only works if you actually buy low which we've not done.
Benfica sell players because they have to. Chelsea look like they want to do what American sports teams do with investing heavily in young talent and having them grow together with an aim on being the best a few years down the line. The issue is that it’s not really a feasible strategy in football, where a few bad results can have a significant impact on your short and medium future as a team and club. And what’s funny is that they keep having a pop at Roman saying he wasn’t running the sporting side properly.
Okay to say if you’re Man City, not when you’ve taken a consistent trophy winning team to midtable after spending a billion pounds.
What's really funny about that overarching strategy is we were kind of (accidentally) doing that already.
The transfer ban meant we had a season of being forced to blood young players, and Roman's decision to capitalize on the pandemic happened to feature a mini gold rush of young players. The result being a team that had a few years together & was quite young.
But no, it has to be OUR young team!
I think the main difference is that we still had plenty of experienced players during that time, who tend to be able to control games better. Right now we only have Silva, and so it's fairly unbalanced and lack a bit of on field direction.
I'm actually surprised that most of the young players weve seen play do seem reasonably talented...possibly with the exception of mudryk and ugochukwu...given its such a high risk strategy. But we're not there yet in terms of playing like a full team and we clearly lack leadership.
And despite the talent, we massively overpaid and therefore I doubt we have the financials now to buy those key players (nor do I trust that boehly would do this)
How much longer will Chelsea fans put up with this garbage?
