Some really good performances tonight.

Initially worried about extra time but core players such as Cry, Rutter and Paddy came on late in the game, so no issues about Rotherham fixture.

I didn't get to watch whole match, but what stood out for me.

Gruev much more progressive with forward thinking passing.

Really well taken goals.

Don't understand how their goal wasn't offside as when final pass was made goalscorer was offside or have they changed the rules a few times since I last looked....

Watched the game much later after work,
knowing result. The weather and pitch conditions
made it hard work. I felt Plymouth edged first half.
But neither team lit it up.

Gnonto's goal was class. Hardly any back lift.
Great technique. Really happy for him. And glad
he's staying. Love him in this team.

Gruev continues to be a great addition. Bossed
things in front of the four. Thought the addition
of the first teamers won it. Cree is clearly the
best player in the Championship. A lot of good
performances and glad we're through.

When Whitaker kicked the ball, the Plymouth player was ahead of our last defender. He was virtually on the line. Unless there was a player off-screen who was playing him onside, he was well off.

As others have said, both Wright (26) with the assist and Galloway (22) with the goal are running from an on-side position when the free kick is taken, Wright plays it back to Galloway who chests it down into the Leeds goal.
I think there are better questions, Wright ghosts through between Firpo and Anthony, who should be tracking his run? Galloway loses Cooper, why?

Watch the highlights on the BBC, Firpo is leaning into the box and Anthony is just behind him, both are between Wright and the goal at the time the ball is struck (2:36). Officials spot on.

yes when free kick is taken, but when assist is provided Gallowasy is offside.

He was at worst level but I agree with LIW - the ball was played back to him.

Both were onside when the free kick was taken so the only way the scorer could have been offside is if he was in front of the guy who passed to him. He wasn’t.

Sorry Jonty but you are wrong, I had another look, Wright plays it back to Galloway not forwards and therefore the goal is legal. Had Wright played it forward then Galloway would have been offside but he didn't.

This might clear things up for you.

It doesn't matter which direction the ball is played.

The goal scorer is comfortably behind the ball when it's played and therefore offside.

Otherwise you would never be able to pass the ball when 2 on 1 with the goal keeper.

Amazed some people thought that was offside tbh.

Seem to contradict yourself Faith, but I think the part that is correct is that the direction of the ball doesn’t matter…only whether the goal scorer is ahead of the ball when it was played.

Let’s face it, the offside rule has confused fans for years.

However I thought most blokes understood it now a days.
