LOL

The ref IS the timekeeper. It states that in Rule 3.

3. Powers and Duties

THE REFEREE:
- acts as timekeeper, keeps a record of the match and provides the appropriate authorities with a match report, including information on disciplinary action and any other incidents that occurred before, during or after the match

But neither of his watches are called the 'Official' time piece.'

In the rules it just lists the compulsary equipment that the ref must provide. Which are,,,

5. Referee's Equipment

COMPULSORY EQUIPMENT
Whistle(s)
Watch(es)
Red and yellow cards
Notebook (or other means of keeping a record of the match)
OTHER EQUIPMENT.

This isnt difficult to follow btw. Maybe Google the rules of the game and read them?

" the ref has added 6 minutes of extra time" because he's officially in charge

Winston....what why...how...thats so unfair and unofficial...how has this happened
----------------------------------------------------------------------

No one said he’s not in charge, you moron.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So.. officially he is...?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He’s the match official, doofus.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
With his timepeice...a tool for official timekeeping... Not to be confused with just a tool
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I answered your question with a full explanation. You ignored it.

So the ref is the official timekeeper, but he uses an unofficial timepiece to determine the official time of a game. Even though the literal definition of "official" is "relating to a position of authority"

Makes sense, well done Winston you are 100% correct...

I'm not so sure. You can often hear fans at the ground saying "This ref is a clock."

No, I gave a logical explanation and you couldn’t address it at all.

‘Unofficial timepiece’

It’s nothing to do with the watch being official or unofficial.

It’s about the time. There’s no official clock. No official time. The referee uses his tools, including his watch, and the margin for error is so small that it’s not a huge issue.

Except that with time wasting as it is, an official clock would actually be a good idea imo.

You have become muddled and forgotten the actual point. You’re now arguing the referee’s watch is an official timekeeping device.

You’re so thick it hurts.

So the refs watch is the official clock

posted on 11/2/24

There’s no official clock.

posted on 11/2/24

So how does the ref know when to end a match?

posted on 11/2/24

He uses a watch.

That doesn’t mean there’s an official clock.

posted on 11/2/24

It literally does.

posted on 11/2/24

It’s noticeable that DJ avoids the full explanations I’ve posted and just keeps trying to insert words into things to make it ‘official’.

It doesnt, and your incorrect use of the word ‘literally’ demonstrates how stupid you are.

So when the refs watch tells them the game is over it is still up for debate?

Using a watch to keep track of certain things doesn’t make it an official clock.

Of course it does.

Yeah. We scored v Brighton after

posted on 11/2/24

No it doesn’t.

You don’t know what an official clock is, which is why you’re changing it from the time to the device.
