In football news Blackburn have confirmed our last proper DM John Eustace as manager. They sound like a club in a bit of a crisis. Good luck to Eustace and hopefully he gets to spank Birmingham, only play them on 13th Feb!

Looking forward to what people are calling the Vidal derby. They are a bit of a bogey team for us despite being completely useless. The inside word is that they have nobody who can stick the ball in the net and are otherwise as mediocre as it gets. A one-nil defeat seems almost certain then.

Here's hoping Derby County send you packing back to Shrewsbury eating your words.

The reverse fixture was an exceptional low. I thought Hourihane did very well in talking to the fans but it was extremely toxic after the final whistle. Supposedly there were proper clear the air talks between players and coaching staff after that game. I wouldn't say that we haven't looked back since but it was perhaps a sort of a turning point in our season.

As it happens I am lucky to have a very good chippy not too far away and an excellent Chinese takeaway in nearby Lllanymynech. I always wonder how Chinese families end up making their living in such places, far away from anything resembling civilisation. It's Wellies' country after all.

Try the Chinese sometime then Scouse. It’s an unprepossessing place by the crossroads in the centre. It’s called the Golden Valley though from its look it really ought to be called The Shed. At that point you are only 10 minutes from New Vidal Towers so you could drop off something for me. I tend to go for the salt and pepper platter to start followed by Double Happiness (number 200). Thanks in advance. Just toot your horn when you are outside and I’ll get someone to pop out so you don’t have to get out of your car.
