PREMIERSHIP CLUBS PROPOSE MEMBER CLUB MEETING WITH CHAIRMAN AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OF SPFL
Joint statement from Aberdeen, Livingston, Motherwell, Rangers, St Johnstone and St. Mirren Football Clubs
Following the clubs' letter to the SPFL Chairman and Chief Executive, a response was received from the Chairman on 9 February 2024.
On consideration of the Chairman's letter of reply, the clubs believe it to be imperative, in the best interests of transparency and governance, that the Chairman and Chief Executive meet with their shareholders,
To that end, the clubs have invited the Chairman and Chief Executive to attend a meeting of all member clubs to address the issues around the Independent Governance Review.
All SPFL member clubs are invited to attend and participate in this meeting, which is to take place at
11:00am on 27 February 2024.

See there’s chat about a possible move to the MLS for Abada.

Still not seeing all this abuse from Celtic fans that’s chasing him away.

For his own sanity he should leave.

No idea why he would bust a gut for a cwntish section of support that has some stupid notion of freedom being expressed by a terrorist group.

And I’ve no fight in this between either faction, but the man could perform in most leagues without this piiish

Bizarrely they are trying to force a rendition of Grace tomorrow in support of Palestine. It's beyond pathetic.

I've always had an issue with the GB but in their vocalised support against the genocide in Palestine I'm with them.

The fact they are against the slaughter of innocent Palestinians has shown up a lot of Rangers fans including ones on here that they'll go against anything the GB stand for and actively support Israel's actions.

However, what I absolutely detest is how Grace is sung at Celtic Park. Its a beautiful love song. It isn't about oppression or war or religion and obviously long before the "troubles", its about one man professing his love for a woman. It doesn't talk about right or wrong.

So, to politicise this song means it will forever be associated with Palestine. I'm with the Palestinians but this song brings nothing to their cause. Let love songs be love songs

I propose we sing I will always love you instead. I'm sure 60000 fans can sing that in tune

Oh and BTW Grace is sung far too quickly at Celtic games. No shout outs are required, its not a RA song.

Slow it down and appreciate the lyrics

Think you’ve to sing grace today in support of Palestine. Agree I’ve not saw collective abuse of him.
Certainly the usual wackos though

It's clearly not easy for the boy being at Celtic, and I have some but limited sympathy for him. His upbringing has likely desensitised him to the decades of atrocities committed by Israel towards Palestine, so might feel any defence of Palestine is an attack on the existence of Israel itself - a false equivalency that has been pushed to great success. He probably doesn't see just how far to the wrong side of history his country has strayed. On the other hand, the GB immediately stumbled into the same clumsy narrative as others have by expressing their support for Palestine as support for Hamas. You can't support peace and support Hamas.

For my part, I think peace can only come from political change from within Israel. Even if they kill every single member of Hamas, another resistance will spring up even more hardened against the very existence of Israel in response. Unfortunately political demographics within Israel make it unlikely there will be any significant anti-apartheid shift, and the right to return primarily attracts other ultra-nationalist Jewish people, bolstering against any sentiments sympathetic towards Palestinian peoples that might organically arise amongst nth-generation Israelis. I don't believe for a minute though that the majority of Israelis actively support the genocide of the Palestinians, nor do I believe the majority of Gazan Palestinians desire the destruction of Israel. I think they mostly desire to live in peace, and the prevailing narratives from Hamas and the Israeli state is that destruction/oppression are the only means to achieve it. Good and bad people on all sides, and all sides trying to paint a binary good vs evil narrative which people will lap up because it's easier to process.

Bit of a ramble but hey ho, not had my coffee yet.

Due to Intelligence received by Rangers and Celtic away fans will not be attending tomorrow's Women's match at Ibrox stadium

Groups of ‘risk’ supporters in a significant number had purchased tickets from the Celtic allocation

The wean’s away to a pro-Palestine rally today in town.
Or an anti-Palestine one. I wasn’t really listening.

Shambles from Rangers again

Claiming the GB are a risk. No issues from them at any other women's game including Celtic v Rangers at Hampden but suddenly Rangers have a problem with Celtic fans going to Ibrox

Sounds familiar
