Didnt know he was playing v west ham. And against liverpool was probably your poorest player imo. Maybe im bias as he's my favourite player to watch because hes so bad.
Still think we paid too much but I quite like him as a squad player
Won 6 "aerial challenges" according to whoscored, which is the something different he gives us.
He didn't give Konate a torrid time. Ref was just quick to book Konate for being naturally strong and black.
Centre forward or bust for Havertz
Forgot he was playing against West Ham but he was OK-ish against Liverpool
He's better in the air than our other options at CF and he does offer something a little different in midfield.
Overall always a silly signing but hopefully can continue as a useful squad option

I read that as saying the ref is racist. Maybe not what Kash meant but that's how it comes across.

Don't be a pudh. Both of Konates bookings were deserved.
My view on havertz btw, he's good at everything apart from kicking the ball. Which, I dunno, is kind of important.
Konate got away with a very clear red against Everton, bet Kash didn't come out with his racism card then.
Probably defended Suarez too

lol hes so poor technically.
Came to us from leveruksen with this berbatov/kaka type reputation.
But his first touch is one of the poorest ive seen, his passing and striking of a ball also.
Better from Havertz the last two games. No doubt. Still overpaid for what he is bringing to the team.
Havertz clearly needs more goal involvements to convince people that he is a good addition to the squad.
I seem to be in the minority because I thought he was awful yesterday. And he’s extremely lucky that Saka was there to put away that rebound against Liverpool or we may not even be talking about this recent run of good form.
Trossard is much better as are Martinelli and Saka, and Jesus
And in midfield Jorginho odegaard rice are all better
So still don’t see the point in arsenal buying him but glad they did
Havertz is an enigma, he finds space & knits the play together very well & works hard at times but he gets a nosebleed in the final third.
He virtually never sprints & he never 'makes things happen' - he can have space & time running at a back four but you know he is just going to lay it off square & let somebody else take the responsibility.
Ultimately he just doesn't have it at the sharp end - goodness knows why because he clearly is skilful in non-pressure situations. I think he is a big upgrade on Elneny as a very intelligent squad player but that's all.
Think we paid about £20 Mil too much IMO but TBH hes done pretty well.
Got to remember the Media been on his back since day one. Any poor pass/shot or play gets highlighted to the max by them and it obviously impacts fans thoughts.
I think he needs to drive more with the ball and when we have the ball he needs to make surging runs into the box. atm he just seems to slowly run his way in.
Have to admit that his defensive work is pretty good. Wins the ball back loads. gives us power in MF and track back very well.

What is this rubbish? Lol
I'll caveat that I don't watch Arsenal all that much but Havertz was just an odd signing imo.
£65m on a player that doesn't necessarily fit comfortably into any of the roles Arsenal played last year, wouldn't make the first 11 or even challenge that strongly for a place (imo) and isn't really an impact sub.
It's not even that you overpaid for him (helping Chelsea out in the process!), it's more the opportunity cost - that £65m could have been put to better use upgrading Nketiah to give Jesus competition/cover.
Fwiw, I thought he looked ok against us. Made some intelligent runs, did little with the ball. As an opposing fan, if Saka or Martinelli get the ball - you worry. If Jesus gets in the box - you worry. If Odegaard drives through into space - you worry. Havertz? Not so much.
Havertz's positioning was key to how well we boxed Liverpool and completely dismantled their style.
Havertz and Trossard interplay was again key to our victory against West Ham.
Arteta uses Havertz in midfield, and he almost always produces. He is very disciplined and makes himself available to link play off the ball.

Havertz was diligent in following Arteta’s tactics & does the simple stuff well, he’s not rubbish, but when Jesus is fit he does all of it better - even finishing, which Jesus is poor at, is better because Havertz’s finishing is even worse !
Havertz is not a first team player when everybody is fit, he’s a useful squad player to replace Elneny but the problem is we bought him for £60m & pay him £280k a week ! Those are not squad player numbers !
Jesus is far better finisher than Havertz. But neither are really up to the standard needed. Havertz however is now a midfield player, and we need to judge him as one and not expect him to put up striker numbers. Havertz played as false no.9 against Liverpool. What Havertz gives us is an aerial presence that is absolutely key to fight against teams who set up in a low block. After saying all that, I feel that ESR makes a better no.8 if he can get fit/stay fit.
Havertz is not a good striker, so I think he is surplus to requirements in the summer if ESR can establish himself.

I don't think Havertz is good in the air offensively at all, but we are agreed that he is surplus to requirements in the summer - the problem is that with 4 years left on his contract at £280k a week(!) I think he will be incredibly hard to shift. 👀
