Looking ahead

Farke in a recent press conference seemed very unhappy about the schedule but as I said previously t'was always the case with us, there's a whiff of Hardaker about the place still.
Regarding the Plymouth gig, the trip as I see it is a short coach trip to Leeds/Bradford, VIP lounge, an hour flight (no big deal unless, like me, you are a nervous flyer), twenty minutes to an hotel the other side. Leisurely breakfast and set off for the ground at 11am tomorrow relaxed.
Having not played since Tuesday. Plymouth on the other hand played Wednesday when they were pegged back with a late equaliser.
This to me doesn't look as stressful as some are making out.
When asked what the lads preferred, the early starts or the Sunday lunchtime match (and I think it was the choice between Friday evening or Sunday) they preferred the earlier starts. I suppose the scheduling around TV rights could have been worse.

Southampton have two away games this week.

Tues Fri

They looked abit tired. They now play WBA, 5th in League, in abit of form and are at home again.

Then last two months we only have two midweek games, both at home.

Whats the issue 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

It's what life in the championship is like isn't it, always has been.

Ask any player they'd rather be playing games than spending their days training, especially if they are winning.

Yes it's a pain not to sleep in your own bed but is the away trip to Plymouth that bad, it's not like they are going overnight on the Megabus.

Any away game for Southampton will be a trek for them.

A week ago I thought it would be between us and Southampton and a 50/50 chance. Would come down to one side bottling it because the runs have been incredible.

But looking at the fixture list & the fact that Southampton haven't beaten a top half side since November (forget which poster pointed this out sorry), and their defeat to Bristol makes us favourites for me.

We will be favourite to win in every fixtures remaining this season. Obviously we probably won't but unless something drastic happens we will definitely be favourites before kick off.
Southampton won't be and I am surprised they are tonight tbh. West Brom at home look good value at 2/1. 11/10 West Brom with Draw no Bet.

really do think its pointless looking at this sort of thing, lets just get 3 points in each game when ever they are.

do we have a good enough squad to rotate if needed? - yes.

no excuses, lets win games

I think myself included may have written Ipswich off too soon because after looking at their remaining fixtures they look odds on to get 90/91 points while depending on the result tonight I think Southampton will struggle to get more than 88/89 points but either way without trying to jinx things if we keep winning at the rate we are we'll be celebrating automatic promotion with 2 or 3 games to go

I'm pretty sure the odds will change constantly as different results change things so much.. zero reason to suggest any one of the top 4 can't have a slip up.

we're the in form team and they'll fear us more than we should fear them. Its in our hands, keep winning and we won't have to keep looking over our shoulder.

I'm for thinking long journeys for any team as long as they're as fit as some think they are shouldn't be a problem!..

Its up to the club to make sure they are where they're meant to be and make sure they have enough time to rest before the games!..

If they cant cope with things than they shouldn't be in the job that if I was, I'd do all the travelling they want me to for the money they earn!..

Dallas - sounded pretty negative in press conference
Darlow - back soon
Struijk - scan next week to see if can increase training
Bamford - likely misses next 2 games
Byram - likely misses next 2 games

If he ever plays again for any club I'll be shocked.

Good.

Been much longer than expected.

Shocking news. It's not like we have a history
of injuries here. I'm stunned.

Never realistic that he was going to play for us again.

Was wondering whether he'd want the opportunity to get one final run out, last game of the season, a few meaningless minutes when all is decided either way, pity minutes, for old times sake.
Chance to say goodbye and for the fans to show their love.
Not sure.

It’s quite obvious that this season is going to the wire. We’ve done exceptionally well to get back into 2nd spot but there are very many twists and turns yet to come this season. A point tomorrow would be ok. A win would be absolutely fantastic.

Do you mean you think they'll score 3 or more goals?..

I’m guessing you think we’ll score at least 3 then. Fair play, let’s hope you’re right.

So some more stars re WBA/Southampton tonight….

This season performances…

Goals Scored Per Match
WB 1.45
SO 1.97

Goals Conceded Per Match
WB 0.94
SO 1.23

Games Won
WB 15
SO 19

Games Drawn
WB 7
SO 7

Games Lost
WB lost 9

At Home lost 2: Hudd & Leic, both 1:2. Beat everyone else they’ve played in the top 13, including Leeds and Ipswich.

SO lost 5
When Away 3: Bristol 3:1, Sunderland 5:0, Middlesbrough 2:1. Highest placed opponent they beat away is 8th, Hull

Betting odds Soton 5/4, WBA 2/1. but cos WBA don’t let that many goals in at home, I’ve a sneaking feeling this is a WBA win

Excellent responses, fellow posters. When we lose, I feel miserable because it feels like we are doomed to a life in the Championship. When we win, I get anxious Leeds are doing what the always do, dangling the carrot of hope before our eyes, only to find the cruellest method of snatching it away from us.
You can’t win!

Leeds United is the title of the club/team it doesn’t play football…mostly players, coaches and staff come from other clubs/teams without having precedent and experience of failing for Leeds or feeling miserable for missing out in past years!
