As much as everyone may think or say there is a gulf in class between the top 4 of the Championship and the rest I still think one of WBA, Coventry and Hull will win the play offs so obviously it's imperitive we go up automatically.

Poor ol' Kalvin is having a miserable time at West Ham.

He should have stayed at Leeds idiot.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Does raise a lot of what if questions doesn't it.

It's actually quite tragic how far KP has sunk in terms of his form which by not playing games for virtually 2 seasons has turned him into a shadow of the player that left Leeds.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Will be interesting to see if Southgate still picks him…looks a mile off it!

KP should be nowhere near the England set up and nice lad he maybe and no doubt he's made himself a very rich man with the City move but what a price as it's unfortunately looking like following in the footsteps of Danny Drinkwater, Jesse Lingard and Deli Ali and just fading into obscurity.

drinkwater was always a one season wonder

Lingard was always bang average

Ali - strange one, looked a world beater, just dropped off a cliff.

We sold Phillips at the right time, he made the right move.

Just simply not has good has we all thought and been injured too much.

We got lucky

You think they would beat us over two legs, or on that massive wembley which would totally suit.

Really ?

In a one off game of course we can lose to anyone.and the excellent season form counts for nothing.

There are at least a couple of very dangerous sides on
their day like Hull or Coventry that can just set up to
frustrate us and hit us on the break or even draw us into
a battle of physicality like Preston, wind our players up
or even something like a badly timed tackle that ends up
reducing us to 10 men that can just swing things against
us and lady luck is on our opponents side that gives me
a bad feeling that if we don't make top 2 we'll cruelly
miss out.

That isnt what you said, is it.

Play offs arent a lotto, the better teams have an advantage.

They have better players.

Doesnt mean they will definitely win the play offs but a huge advantage.

Phillips had an opportunity to go to the best team in the world. And test himself against the best holding midfielder in the world. He gave it a go. And wasn’t good enough.

But most players in the world wouldn’t be good enough.

Great player for us. Great career. And genuinely chose to stay and help us get promoted instead of taking a Premier League offer.

Really don’t get the gloating of some Leeds fans now that he having a tough time.

The Man Cuty move has backfired and he would have always known this could happen but you have to be brave and go for it. You got to push yourself.

I hope he can return to his best again.

I have said that I think Coventry or Hull or WBA will win the play offs despite them over the season not being as good as the top 4 because in a one off game they are more than dangerous enough to beat anyone on the day and even in the 2 games before the final against say Ipswich home and away they have enough to get past them even if it's on penalties.

It's just my gut feeling that top 2 is where we must be but I could be wrong and we or Southampton or Ipswich do show their season superiority over whoever finishes 5th and 6th and does get promoted but you can never be complacent against anyone in this league and assume it's a given that whoever finishes 5th or 6th is just making up the numbers in my opinion.

I sincerely hope KP can get his career back on track and back to the form he showed for us and England at the Euros but his lack of game time has been really detrimental to him and yes he gave it a go but sitting on
the bench week in week out for 2 years in his prime may
have done him irreversible harm... I hope not and I'm keeping my fingers crossed the more game time he gets the old KP returns.

100 points is still a possibility. If we beat Leicester on Friday maybe becomes a probability.

Another absolutely fantastic result and all credit again goes to DF, his staff and the lads. Clearly if we keep responding to Southampton/Ipswich and keep our destiny in our own hands, there’s nothing else we need to do … and atm, they also need to keep on winning to keep pace with us. Again, nothing else we can do atm👍.

The problem with this argument of course is that at the moment two of Leeds, Southampton and Ipswich will be in third and fourth, so the teams in fifth and sixth (currently WBA and Coventry) will need to beat the teams above them over two legs to get to Wembley. Yes we saw it with Derby but the gulf is that much bigger this time round.
Big chance that neither of the lesser lights will get a sniff of Wembley Way and that the final will be between third and fourth as it should be.
