Injuries

Not any more than other clubs.

It just feels like an awful lot of effort for a fairly poor wum.

But eh, it's Sunday. Not much else to do I guess. You do you.

Stay off tik tok and insta pal.....then you won't see these insane claims...let alone need to believe them.

They've had ups and downs but overall a good season considering they sold one of the best strikers around and had about a 0 net spend?

Concerning thing is the injuries and fatigue they have had from basically one competition. Next season that squad is most likely going to be flying to kazakhstan and mongolia during the week, exhausting.

But yeah some of their players got massively overrated. Sarr and Bissouma had a good game against Uniteds midfield (which I'd probably run rings round) and were being called the best CM combo in the league

But the squad has gone from basically not running and camping in own half to being one the most running and pressing team in the league.

Add into that the injuries and silly suspensions we’ve got you can see why we look shattered.

People are looking now and saying we’ve got our best players back which is pretty correct but not many or match fit / sharpe atm.

Maddison for instance looks about 20% of what he was pre injury.

Overall like you’ve put we are having a decent season where we lost and icon of a player and are now building a new style with quite a few new players.

Meant as a WUM but actually cheered me up. Reminded me that our squad is not that bad and will get better and we have a great Manager. I think we will still have a strong finish to the year and surprise a lot of people

Ange has to figure out his preferred 11 ASAP, loyalties aside.

Just frustrating that we have lost games this season when we have clearly been the better side.

But we can't afford to lose touch with 4th place.

If United win then the pressure is definitely on.

Manager naivety mainly.
After the "new manager bounce" and momentum carried them to their best start ever they have been found out a fair bit.
In the last 15 games they have conceded 2 or more 10 times. You aren't going to win many games like that, and they have picked up just 21 points from 45 in that time.

And a hell of alot of injuries, and self inflicted suspensions.

Truth be told....not that a gooner is interested in that....

It's still a decent position to be in.....

Is it a surprise you got those injuries though?
Playing the same XI week in week out at that super intensity you did was only going to end up one way tbh.

It is a surprise they all happened at the same time.

The suspension are self inflicted but still a mitigating factor.

Arsenal by contrast have been very fortunate with injuries.

Apart from Son (and even then he can often have off days), none of our players have been or should be considered as world class. Yet. Some will go on to be if they can keep up their form. Kulu definitely isn't world class and one who most Spurs fans admit has underperformed relative to the start he made at Spurs.

Spurs with their best 11 challenge for the league this season, but we haven't had our best 11 enough.

Yes indeed.....but likewise you can't create the cover/depth/quality in one window.

Arsenal fans should we know this.....as its taken arteta a good while to sort the wheat from the chaff.

Arsenal had 7 out last week 🤔
We have 3 long term absentees, and a rotation of other injuries. Doubt there have been many weeks when we haven't had 5 or 6 missing. All this with the added fixtures from the CL.

Very fortunate indeed...

Which players are out?

Looking at your line ups each week so seem prettty much able to field your best eleven.

We had 2 of our best and most important players at the time out for over 2 months, from the same game. Other fans can talk about their injuries but I suspect it's not as severe a situation as that.

The manager for sure imo. He did well to get them in a position to dream, but did so by exerting the maximum amount of energy and next to no game management. It looks like the intensity is taking its toll.

Timber hasn't played since the 50th minute of the first game. We have been playing Kiwior left back because 3 others are out.
Partey not been available since around game 4
Jesus is out and has missed a fair few games.

We haven't had our "best XI" once this season.

Assuming you mean van Ven as one, that came down to the managers tactics. Don't think I have ever seen a CB have to make as many recoveries as he does, and that is always going to risk pulling something. The lad is always chasing, whereas someone like Saliba is always ahead of the game.

and more importantly 3 time ‘manager of the mate’ awards since taking the PL by storm?

We are par for the course. Still in year one.

New manager, new players, new system. 5th is about right. Defo over performed in the first 10 games.

We have gone from parking the bus last season to all out attack.

There are always going to be bumps in the road.
