We are generally in a very good position now, my only concern is the fixture list after the Leicester game.
28th away at Chelsea
2nd away at Huddersfield
5th Home at Stoke
8th away at Wednesday.
Bearing in mind several players looked a bit flat later on yesterday, certainly Cry.
Interesting that you are concerned about those games Rev, the Chelsea game, I think the lads will be looking forward to, a chance to prove themselves against Premier League opposition, there are parallels with the Arsenal game a few years back under Bielsa where the team went out but the whole world got the opportunity to sit up and listen and saw what we were all about (how's that for a sentence rammed full of cliches).
Beyond that, Huddersfield, Stoke and Wednesday are all very winnable ties, if you add Millwall to that we play four out of the bottom six prior to the International break and though they are scrapping for their lives, they are down their for a reason and we are second for a reason.
In the international break, we will lose, probably, Meslier, Klaesson, Roberts, Gray, Rodon, Ampadu, Cooper, Kamara, Summerville, James, Greuv, Gnonto, Rutter, Joseph and various members of the U21 squad.
I am more concerned firstly about potential injuries, secondly how the team will perform on their return from international duty and finally the run in to the end of the season with the harder fixtures including Hull, Coventry, Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Southampton.
Jonty, do you honestly think that Greuv is positioning himself in such a way that "he's not an option for others to pass to"?
You seem to have a very negative views about the guy and I struggle to find anyone who shares your views.
I don't think we have had a duff signing under Farke. Every signing seems to make sense and players who were not involved earlier in the season are now first teamers (Gnonto, Gruev, Bamford).
Just shows you how awful the signings were under Orta.

I feel Gruev is out performing Kamara atm. Gruev hasn't put a foot wrong yet, even early on he was tidy.
All very nice, but if Southampton and Ipswich keep winning, we might end up in the playoffs !! Still maybe Leicester will continue a losing streak....maybe it'll be a 4 horse race for autos.
Yep, good points made all. Regarding Gnonto, most probably too late now but wish he had apologised to the fans at the time. Anyway, he’s doing great now and long may that continue.
The international break is the big worry for me. Our Welsh boyos have at least one, probably two, highly competitive games. We are, player for player, and without disprespect to the rest of the division, in the top three teams of this league and, home or away, do not need to fear anyone. We have two major games left and Friday night is one of them.
It's not a win or bust scenario, but given the way the Saints and Ipswich are playing, we need to be at our best. Even Leicester are beginning to feel the heat as we are at the start of the fox-hunting season.
One thing is sure, whichever teams get the autos, they will have to fight tooth and nail for them. I suspect the play-off final will be between the two who lose out, such is the gulf between the top four and the rest.
I've never thought we couldn't go back up as champions. A win Friday puts us only 6 points back. Still time to make that up.
I know going up is the main thing but winning the championship for the second time would be great. Beating Chelsea would be great but not that important overall to our season.
A good showing would be nice but they seem to be starting to gel under poch.
That's what throwing a billion pounds into the team eventually gets you.

When I see him he’s always available to take a pass. Not sure what you are seeing.
He’s our defensive midfielder and plays a similar role to Batty - win the ball and play it simple. He does add the occasional excellent through ball though.
When Ampadu is at CB Gruev must be one of the first names on the team sheet at the moment. Not sure they can both play midfield at the same time though.
I can't even remember Ampadu in midfield, he's so doing such a good job at the back. Archie also has been excellent at rb. We really don't have a weak spot at the moment and that includes Firpo.
I think hard to put wrong when just passing back or sideways, but more expansive now, I just find his positioning strange.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Jonty part of the role of the DM at times will be to pass sideways and backwards to the keeper and others in the defensive unit, there's not always an out ball, it's not always a negative move.
Are you implying that he is in some way hiding from the ball or otherwise making himself unavailable for a pass, what does "I find his positioning strange" mean? Please elaborate for me. I looked at his heat map for the Preston game which, didn't contradict what you say but certainly indicated a lot of involvement in the game.

The top four are all managing 2 points a game or better! It makes a win against Leicester even more important.
It is typical Leeds that we get relegated with 2 clubs that had been established in the PL for a few years and it is now a real battle between them and us. Add to that a newly promoted team that kept its momentum going and were in 2nd place for a long time and still could be on exactly the same points as ourselves if they win their game in hand and it has made this season like no other in the Championship - a four horse race - and one team is going to be very disappointed come the end of the season.
We HAVE to keep our momentum going now and must beat Leicester on Friday. This would also tell Southampton and Ipswich that we definitely mean business. We have done the double over Ipswich and hopefully we can do the same over Leicester. Our final game of the season, when we play Southampton at home, may be our most important game of the whole season but we have to keep the pressure up on those three other teams by continuing to win our games. Let’s break a few more records and keep this run going.
All this talk about us having to win the Leicester game (i.e. a must-win game) is going to upset some on hereπ.
(I agree btw, and due to our start to the season, pretty much all our games in the last couple of months have been ‘must-wins’ … and guess what?, we’ve won them!ππ).
Its always being said this "must win" thing!..
Baffles me because I'm always thinking evey game is a must win!..
Hopefully the players see it the same as me!.
"The top four are all managing 2 points a game or better! It makes a win against Leicester even more important."
heart of, I know the top teams are on 2pts or more a game, but I'm also looking at the goals than and now and thinking our players are doing a great job, and that with a team that play the Leeds thing and miss so many chances!.
Although I agree we are in a strong position I've seen a comparison to where we are after 33 games this season to our Championship title winning season of 2020 and we are by some distance points wise better off under Farke but obviously in 2020 it wasn't a 4 horse race and so automatic promotion was clinched with a total in the high eighties which I doubt very much will be the case this season so there's still plenty of work to be done if we are going to avoid the stress of the play-offs.
Therefore under normal circumstances where 92 points would definitely clinch automatic promotion I'm starting to come round to the way of thinking by others on this forum that this season is in fact a freak occurrence whereby it's probably going to take at least 95 to 97 points to be certain of automatic promotion which is like Maid has said just our bad luck as usual but we can definitely help our cause by beating Leicester on Friday night and drawing them closer to the chasing pack.
