80 million for Rashford to PSG

I'd accept 80p for Rashford

posted on 18/2/24

Really depends on who we'd have lined up to replace him, but if a quality replacement is available then £80m wouldn't be bad.

It would be even better if Rashford could find his mojo again (and with more consistency).

Rather we got some money for greenwood and sancho

When you consider how much we’ve spent on players that are a lot worse than Rashford, no I wouldn’t take the money, only if we’d already signed someone that had proven to be better than him.

Things of like to see happen before considering selling rash.

Get rid of onana. Free if need be
Sell Antony
Sell Sancho
Sell greenwood
Get replacement for eriksen and get rid of him

Only if we have a better replacement lined up, after all the money won’t be going into my bank account

Would I pay £80m for him if I were another club? Absolutely not

Yeh I would take it

Depends on what we do with it. If you could guarantee me we'd sign someone really good with the cash I'd take it. If it's another Antony I'd rather keep Rashy any day.

Really harsh on the Eriksen replacement there Baz. At least give him a bit of time.

Is his "replacement" not already at the club?

I’d snap their hand off for it.

Good player on his day but let’s be real about it, he’s 26, unlikely to improve, not a regular for his country, gets paid elite level wages without being elite and apart from a 17 game streak last season he’s been pretty average/poor for a few years now.

Now that we are looking to employ competent football people we might actually be able to replace him with someone better.

posted on 18/2/24

For that amount, you'd probably sign someone worse, so you may as well keep him. £80m isn't that much in today's crazy market for a team of Man U's stature.

On a purely footballing perspective, of course it's possible to upgrade. But it's unlikely we can upgrade without a net financial loss. E.g. Milan will probably want more for Leão than we get for Rashford. So a first question is whether it's advisable (in a time of FFP restrictions) to put a chunk of our finite budget into attempting an upgrade at left wing.

As a fan, going on sentiment as much as anything, I'd prefer to see Rashford stay, and see what consistency he accomplishes in a more stable and tactically assured side. That's something he's never experienced at United, and he's sometimes been devastating despite that.

Why not play Garnacho out there and spend the money on another position?

posted on 18/2/24

I would yes.

Bradley Barcola looks decent for PSG playing down the left wing.

Not sure it'd be an upgrade on Marcus but he's a good young talent

As others have said, £80 million for Rashford is fine in principle, but who has any faith the club would replace him with a better player?

Seems a gamble to me.

Take the money and use it to go toward Michael Olise replacing the hapless Antony
Play Garnacho on the left

Jobs a good’un

Radhford has been horrendous this season, but in the past he’s shown he can be the difference maker. What have Anthony or Sancho ever done in the past? You’d rather cash in those dead beats if possible and bench Rashford, and get a better player in.

Utd aren’t too many players away from challenging. They’re always challenging for top 4, but to start challenging for the title you don’t need a wholesale of changes. Although 4th is going to be extremely difficult this year, 5th is still a great possibility

I’d worry about Olise’s injuries. We need to get rid of Antony, Martial, Sancho and Rashford really. We need a huge rethink on our attacking options.
