We actually had a great 2nd half but our finishing cost us. Same happened away to Forest, missed chance after chance 2nd half.

We missed 5 easy chances and barely conceded any decent chance all half.

Both points being made above are valid. Our emphasis on transition created loads of great chances, and we really should have scored around four. But failure to manage long spells of controlled possession is concerning and we were lucky we only conceded one goal. The lack of control is obviously in part a tactical issue, but also very clear we don't have a single midfielder with nearly the composure and technical security of Mainoo.

It’s not just the midfield, it’s the whole team. We can relieve pressure by keeping the ball between the defence, midfield or attack.

Bruno, Garnacho, Hojlund and Rashford have poor ball retention compared to the best sides. Even Chelsea’s attack keeps the ball better than us and they’ve got facking Sterling and Jackson playing for them.

Put two possession based CMs alongside Mainoo and we'd have far more control IMHO. Casemiro is not our long term solution in any shape or form.
