SJR on Greenwood

Another factor of course, is the players hopes.

If he wanted to return to United, maybe he would be willing to shed a little more light on the situation.
Equally, if he wants a permanent move elsewhere, the decision is taken out of the clubs hands.

It will be interesting, because like him or loathe him, he is 1 hell of a talent.

I think it will be determined on what the manager and the DofF think about his value to the playing squad. Plus what the womens team and staff think about the prospect. The Fans Forum will also have a say if that continues under Ineos.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Given Radcliffe’s insistence his takeover is about success on the pitch, I think it will be much more of a footballing decision this time, than it would have been under Arnold and the Glazers.

Yes it will be a footballing decision to keep or sell him.... but if the United support home and away are going to give him dogs abuse if he does play then its a non starter. He will get dogs abuse from away fans but that just gonna happen.

I’d be surprised if match going United fans gave him much grief.

Well I know I wont. And I would be surprised if many of the other 74K did.

He won't get grief, but he will never be liked. The recording saw to that.

Manchester United must sell Mason Greenwood – and not keep any of the money

Jason Burt from the Telegraph.

What a idiotic statement 😂

Im not there to support individual player im there to support United. If he plays games then so be it but I dont believe many reds will scream and shout abuse at him from their seats every time he gets the ball. Or turn my back on the pitch if he scores. I will presume Jims United will only play him because they think he is able to. Im personally not and never have judged him on anything I have seen or read in social media. I havent got a clue went on.

And for anybodys information I dont think he should play for United again. Its not worth the hassle. Should have sold him a long time ago.

Hmmmm, not sure about that. He's said that the fans thoughts on such things matters will play a part. If it simply a footballing decision then you bring him back no question. But if he is taking into consideration the fellings of the fans, then that surely means consultation with MUST? And they don't want Greendwood to play for the club again.

I'm not saying itl be purely a football decision. Fans feeling will be considered, but i think less so than they were under Arnold and the Glazers.

Ive explained that several times on here. Forv5he last time. Because the hassle and distraction is detremental to the sporting team and is just too much. Tough on Greenwood if he is innocent of the initial charges, as he claims to be. And we will probably never know the truth unless he spills the beans. If there are beans to spill. But United need to move on. So this chapter is done for me.

Sorry

I wasn't aware of your position. I wasn't challenging it, just clarifying what you said.

Yes, I agree that the whole will he / won't he come back thing might be a distraction for some (those close to him) but once the decision is made, the players will go along with it, I'm sure.

Footballers seem too self centred to care too much about anyone else if I'm honest.

Exactly why I said from the off that I think he's done at United.

I’m not convinced the players would be hugely distracted by Greenwood’s return. I actually think some would welcome someone taking the spotlightoff them, at least until the next scandal. Maybe I’m too cynical.
